Situated at the edge of the sand dunes is the spacious beach bungalow. Sleeping up to 6 adults and 2 children
it has views to the Mendips at the front and the sea views to the rear. It is tastefully decorated and furnished with all the modern conveniences you would expect to find ... and perhaps a few more.
In addition to the three bedrooms there is a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, en suite and a large conservatory to the rear. It is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, garden furniture and parking for 4 cars.
You can relax watching the sun rise over the Mendip Hills and watch the sun set over the sea.
lives in Birmingham
Ann Nash purchased this bungalow in 2003
we holidayed there with our parents, when we were young
views are fantastic and very dog friendly
We had a super week in this lovely bungalow. It was clean and spacious and had everything we wanted in easy reach - beach, shop, pub, places to eat and places to visit.
The weather was kind to us and obviously acting on an earlier review, there were steps leading from the garden down onto the beach which was fantastic for us as my daughter loves body boarding and the easy access to the beach made this a breeze! The bungalow is great for the disabled but the beach access may still a little awkward for some.
The beach is great - nice firm sand for lots of cricket, football, sand sculptures etc.
The owner kept in touch throughout the booking process and the hand over of keys was easy.
We would have no hesitation in booking again and hope to visit again soon!
This is our second visit to the property. We love staying here its wonderfull for our children and our dogs. Right on the beach with a fabulous pub for food opposite. Plenty of days out to keep everyone happy regardless of the weather. I would like to say that the property needs a bit of tlc though. The patio door is very difficult to close and lock you need a good set of arm muscles if you didn't have a strong person to do this there would be a problem locking up and there were a few other issues, leaking conservatory roof, but, it wouldn't stop me from coming back again. Look forward to next summer.
Had a great time again in this bungalow.
Brean is ideal if you want a family holiday that includes your dogs.
The garden overlooks and has access to the sandy beach.
The Brean Down Inn is opposite and serves good food - it has a large conservatory and is very dog friendly.
We look forward to returning to Ann's bungalow again.
Lovely views, loved that the bungalow allows pets.shop on your doorstep.pubs,takeaway..our only down fall was the weather picked the wrong week...surprised this place hasn't had more reviews written, worth a stay peaceful perfect views, kitchen has everything you need two bathrooms,we loved eating breakfast and looking out to the sea view first thing. if you want peace and quiet, dog walks its perfect.would stay again.
We have just spent a lovely weeks holiday in this bungalow set amongst the sand dunes. I have to say this location is just wonderful - you can literally step out of the bungalow and onto the beach. The owners have had the garden landscaped to give direct access to a public path running alongside the bungalow to the beach - no steps! Really beautiful sunsets!
The bungalow was very clean and comfortable. Some of the fixtures and fittings were a little dated but this did not detract from the enjoyment of the holiday at all. In fact for us holidaying with our Labrador it was preferable to 'boutique' accommodation. The kitchen was well equipped - a nice big fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Comfortable sitting room. The conservatory was wonderful - on the coldest of days we were able to sit in there and feel sunshine through the windows.
Locally there is lots to see and do. Our teenagers loved Clarkes Shopping Village in Street for the bargains! Cheddar gorge, Glastonbury - all nice little trips out.
The Brean Down Inn across the road does lovely food - and so nice to be able to take the dog with us!
Overall - we loved our time at this bungalow and would go back in a flash. A great holiday for our dog too - excellent walks right from the back door.
Wanted a quiet location for a relaxing weekend break away from it all. Found this location just perfect for that. Despite being November the weather during the daytimes was mild for the time of year and sunny and so was able to sip lattes outside in the garden overlooking the beach and read whilst watching the beach walkers and the winter beach sports going on.
It is a quiet location at this time of year and most of the nearby facilities are closed with the exception of a very well stocked mini market about a mile away. But if you are prepared to cater for yourself then it can't be beaten for hiding away in lovely and comfortable surroundings. The dog was extremely happy with the garden and the easy beach access for long walks. I would say that if you have a dog that fancies themself as a bit of an escape artist then there isn't much fencing along one side of the garden so it's not totally totally dog secure.
However the bungalow was very clean and tidy and very adequately furnished, there was every utensil i needed for my stay and with the exception of a torch which I forgot to take, I didin't need to buy anything else. I felt comfortable and very much at home there and noted from reading the visitors book that any suggestions or negative comments had been noted and more importantly addressed. I would return without hesitation for the same type of winter quiet getaway.
