Enjoy spending time with family, children & friends. Recreational pursuits include trail running, vegetable gardening & kayaking. Committed to living as sustainably as possible. This includes how & where I source food (preferably home grown or local); transport, housing & energy choices; philanthropic & political choices among others. Work in health care where I believe all should have equal access to care independent of their financial means, faith or social standing.
Why Darren chose Tullah
Enjoy spending time in the West Coast & Tarkine Wilderness area of Tasmania. It is here I am privileged to host ‘Tullah TimeOut & Tullah HideAway’ Holiday Home. I believe long term industries which nurture this special & unique environment should be supported over those which destroy & strip resources for short term monetary gain. We cannot afford to forget the long term value these areas inherently provide including maintenance of biodiversity, clean air & water provision, climate change mitigation, as yet undiscovered pharmaceuticals, tourism pursuits supporting long term sustainable employment and more....it is these things for which we are guardians for future generations, our children.

We enjoyed our stay. There were 3 singles and a couple and the house accommodated is well.
Great accommodation with excellent heating to kerp you warm. Very tidy and great facilities.
Lovely spot. Great base to explore west coast.
First impression was very positive. The house smelt fresh and clean when we opened the door. The house had everything we needed. The bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable, I have some back issues and am always worried when sleeping away from home, but it was better than mine, and now might have to buy myself a new one.
Lake Rosebery itself was beautiful, and great fun with the kayaks, or just to sit and relax. I recommend a trip to Strahan, and while there go see "The ship that never was."
Darren , our host, was very helpful , and even offered us alternative accommodation if we needed it, as there bush fires nearby. The guide to the Tarkine was very well used. Unfortunately the bush fires kept us close to home for a couple of days, so we didn't get to Corinna. Maybe next time.
Thanks Darren for a great family holiday.
Really gorgeous surrounds
If you have a family, love the out-of-doors, and want a comfortable place to call home, this is the place for you. The nearby lake is serene and Montezuma Falls near Rosebury is specular. Cradle Mountain is closeby (and amazing) and the little town of Waratah and the Philosopher's walk were real finds. Stahan and Queenstown are also not far. The house is modest but clearn and well stocked. I suggest you bring your fresh fruit and veggies but all other supplies can be bought in Rosebury.
We had a short but enjoyable stay. Everything that we needed and comfortable. Darren was easy to contact and very helpful
