Set in a 3 hectare natural bush block, Tarabuco is a beautiful cedar chalet style cottage, nestled in amongst the trees, huge front windows that allow a lot of natural light into the main living/ lounge area. Relax in the comfy sofa and chairs while watching the birds outside, or curl up at night and watch a dvd or play some board games. There is a small paddock on the side where mornings and twilight you may spot a kangaroo or two grazing, possums or a blue wren outside, take the boule outside and play a twilight game with the bevy of your choice. Tarabuco is a simple cottage surrounded by nature, so it is most suitable to people that also love nature and wish to respect it, or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
Light the wood heater, with a flue through to the ceiling, that heats up the whole house making a warm and cosy wintery retreat, whilst the mostly slate floor keeps you cool in summer. The pitched tin roof is just magical, with the sound of the rain.
There is a mezzanine floor for the second bedroom that is very open to the stunning rafters and has a Queen ensemble, and single bed setup (there is also a trundle bed if needed). There are Japanese paper screens that can separate the Queen bed from the single for some privacy although please bare in mind that it is a very open space, and may not be suitable for some people. A family of four to six would be ideal although the mezzanine is not suitable for very young children, due to the staircase. Downstairs is the main bedroom that is comfortably set up with a Queen bed.
The open plan living area has a huge wooden dining table to share fabulous meals. The kitchen has a microwave and gas oven and basic kitchen amenities. There is a small bathroom with shower recess and vanity. There is a new bbq outside on the front verandah, with outdoor table/bench. All the water at Tarabuco comes from a large rainwater tank behind the house, so we ask that guests respect the water and conserve as much as possible.
Situated less than a ten minute drive to Margaret River township, and even closer to the nearest wineries, such as Xanadu, Leeuwin and Voyager. It's only a ten minute drive to two of the most beautiful beaches, Prevelly and Redgate. Follow the winding Caves road south to reach the famous Margaret River caves through beautiful Karri forests. A car is essential to stay at Tarabuco.
