Great house with amazing view

  • 5 of 5

The house is incredible. Amazing view, amazing space. We are extremely glad we stayed there. The house is very well furnished and decorated. It's very clean and bright and spacious. Best part was waking up to the beautiful frozen lake view in the morning, in a room full of light.

Fantastic charming and modern home

  • 5 of 5

The location is absolutely perfect and beautiful given the views over the lake. Less then 10 min from Okemo and a 15 min drive to Killington this charming and modern but warm home is absolutely perfect for us ski lovers.

We definitely had a wonderful stay. More than spacious enough for 5 adults, a fire pit outside that's perfect for making s'mores, a fire place to keep you warm and cozy in the evening, and plenty of things to do in the house alone (games, puzzles, movies, books). It is definitely a place to stay in all seasons as it is near the lake and mountains for hiking or winter activities.

5 stars all the way!!

Beautiful surroundings,strange house

  • 2 of 5

The lake and mountain view was beautiful. The house itself was not as the pictures show. The house is right on the highway and the road noise can be heard from every room in the house. The pictures show the house to be clean and set up nicely but when we arrived the house was anything but. The kitchen table in the photos had been replaced by a small glass table with mismatched chairs. There was random furniture stuffed into the rooms that made it feel cluttered and messy. It was not clean, the floors in the downstairs bedroom were dirty and I had to sweep the dust bunnies from under the furniture to get the floor clean. While doing that I found a stray bra and socks. Gross. The medicine cabinet mirror in the downstairs bathroom was not secured and nearly fell on our heads twice while using the sink. One large picture, that had been set on top of a rickety bakers rack in the kitchen, fell off and hit one of us in the head then shattered on the floor. The photos online should be updated to show the disorganized, cluttered house or the house needs to be brought back up to the standards that are shown in the photos. Also making mention of the house being steps off of the highway would be recommended.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, even though it was quite disappointing. I have not been to the house since the Spring and obviously from your comments the house needs more attention than a cleaning crew coming in and out. I will be going up next week and hope to bring the house up to the standards it should be in. Most people seem to realize from google maps (or map provided by Home Away, especially satellite view) that the house is not on, but near the road, however for those that don't follow those maps I will mention it in the house description, in the future.

Quaint for a short stay; needs more "home" goods

  • 3 of 5

The house's design is very appealing and provides enough private and public space for a handful of people to enjoy. Also, there are two full bathrooms off of each bedroom, which is nice. The state of the house could have been cleaner, and every drawer we opened was disheveled and full of dishware that needed a rinse before use. Also, for a "home away," it did not have cups or wine glasses, only mugs. There was one wooden cutting board in poor condition, and no plastic cutting boards to use for preparing meats. If you are very fearful of spiders, you will not like this place. Yes, it is on a lake house in the middle of nature, but the house could use a thorough vacuuming to rid the many spider webs and large spiders. The house is located directly next to the road and shares access to the boat ramp. There are many people who frequent this boat ramp and the traffic noise was unexpected. Overall, the place provided the getaway we needed. The lake was nice, and the view was welcome. I would, however, stay somewhere that the sun stays on the house past 11:30a.m., and one that is set further away from the main road and has enough of the "home" goods we expect to have in another house.

Serenity on Lake Rescue

  • 5 of 5

Having spent may years vacationing in Vermont, I really enjoy the Ludlow area. I usually choose a secluded house near the mountains, but this time chose a house on the lake. The house is a product of the owner's design model, freshpods, and is a great combination of modern meets nature. The windows open up to the lake, and there is no reason to leave. The rooms are designed for maximum comfort, peace and quiet. Just minutes form the best of Ludlow, our stay was suberb from start to finish. The owner was a pleasure and available throughout the whole process. Needless to say we had a fabulous time.

Owner's Response: I have just one observation: The house is on "Echo Lake" not the nearby Lake Rescue. Thank you for the review, I couldn't have written it better myself Nicholas

Our family of four had a lovely time this home. The house was very clean, new and green! I overlooked that it was a container home when booking it! Loved the design and the windows across the front. Beds were all very comfortable and wonderful to just roll over and watch the sun come up over the lake! Truly, you could fish from the front lawn. We brought our own kayak, since the sailboat was a bit difficult to paddle. Quiet mornings out on the lake with a bike ride around the lake were priceless! Restaurants (of every range) and grocery stores were all convenient and love the proximity to the golf course. Would love to come back winter or summer!
