Excellent apartment

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, spacious apartment. Just like 'home away from home', its well equipped with all that's needed for a comfortable stay. Fabulous location and easy to get to cafes, shops and train station. We'll definitely stay again.

Lots of stairs to access unit, but good location

There are 2 long outdoor stair cases to climb to get to the apartment which is not mentioned in the description. Located well within Williamstown, but block is attached to a noisy pub with unpleasant smells much of the time and some of the pub's kitchen is located in one of the ground floor double car spaces, where kitchen staff also sit and smoke on their breaks - very unusual. Directions for access takes you directly through the long narrow garbage bin zone which was very stinky & unpleasant. Unit was clean and well supplied, comfortable sofas, pillows very hard, mattress very firm. BBQ unclean, no BBQ cover, lots of spiders webs, balcony overlooks townhouse complex - sometimes noisy. Lighting in bathroom very inadequate, and just one towel per person provided. Better arrangements needed for entry to communal garage as the remote was left for us inside the upstairs apartment - would be better to allow guests to manually open the garage after accessing ground level gate entry with the keypad pin code - i.e. so that guests do not have to go all the way upstairs to the unit just to get the remote control before being able to park their car and then have to bring their things up the long stair cases requiring multiple trips - the area is very busy and street parking not easy to get nearby. Also host's instructions asked us to leave the remote inside the apartment again when we departed - which requires yet another trip back up the stairs after you have loaded up your car and left the car park just to return the remote control - can easily be left in the unit's letterbox which is much more convenient for guests.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback Karen. There are 2 flights of stairs to the apartment and whilst the information is outlined in an email we send to all guests prior to their arrival, I appreciate that it should be included on the Stayz website which I have now done. The complex is situated next to the small, quaint bluestone Steam Packet hotel built in 1839. The “Packet” is one of Williamstown’s favourite pubs for “pub-fair” meals. During the warmer months, patrons do sit outside at the 3 or 4 tables provided. Most guest staying with us see the pub as an asset which provides a handy option for a quick meal or opportunity to wind down before heading back to the apartment. Until now, we haven’t had any guest complain of the noise from the pub. Once inside the apartment you are located at the rear of the complex, away from the street. Unfortunately, there is no provision for a key safe to be attached to the building at the gate entry; consequently, the remote for the carpark, is left inside the apartment. Whilst it is a good idea to leave the remote in the letterbox when departing; it’s not an option as the letterboxes are exposed to the weather and any water could ruin the remote. I’m glad you found the apartment to be “clean and well supplied” as we do the cleaning ourselves and take pride in the cleanliness of our properties. After guests have departed we sweep the balcony and brush off the spiders’ webs outside. The removal of the webs is a continual task and it may be that your arrival was a few days after we’d removed the webs, only for them to return. The BBQ has a hood but your right there isn’t a vinyl cover. It is usually checked and cleaned so I apologise if it wasn’t clean on this occasion. The provision of bedding and pillows is a tricky one. We have provided pillows and mattress of medium firmness in an attempt to cater for most people. When guests stay for 1 or 2 nights we provided 1 towel each. For longer stays we provide 2 towels each. If included in your nightly rate, we provide a weekly service which includes fresh linen and towels. We believe the standard of accommodation offered is fantastic value, especially, compared to our larger competitors. Several guests have commented that they’d wish they’d discovered us sooner as our properties are larger, cleaner, better equipped and maintained. Lynne and Stephen
