Stunning rural retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this beautiful home in June 2018 for a long weekend. Chris was very welcoming, and gave ample information beforehand regarding directions on getting there. As other reviewers have said, make sure you bring everything you need, there are no nearby townships to stock up but that is part of the joy of the place ie its remoteness. The house itself is beautifully done, with a massive kitchen fully stocked with all the appliances/equipment to feed an army if necessary. It was also immaculately clean. The hallway of bedrooms is the longest I have ever seen! My family enjoyed fishing in the river (more of a creek at the time we visited), and appreciated also the supply of the badminton net and racquets which kept the kids happy. We had a lovely relaxing weekend, and were appreciative also of the late checkout so there was no need to rush off early on the last day. Highly recommended for a quiet weekend enjoying each others' company with no distractions.

We had the most wonderful stay at Dumaresq. Thank you Chris for making us feel welcome and ensuring we had a great stay. Cannot fault this amazing property...everything you could need and a spectacular outlook. We truly enjoyed unwinding and the kids loved seeing the countryside.

Absolute rural luxury!

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic group accommodation. Very clean, spacious and really quite luxurious overall.

A great winter retreat, was an absolute pleasure to stay here and spend quality time with friends away from city life.

We experienced a rare treat of sitting, chatting and having a few drinks around the camp fire whilst having a dome of a sky full of stars as the only lights for miles. Blissful!

We will definitely be back.

Just don't forget the milk.....the shops are a loooong drive away!

Amazing Amazing Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from the long weekend at Dumaresq Homestead and I cannot rate this property highly enough. There was eight of us in total - 4 adults and 4 children and the moment we stepped into the house we knew the weekend was going to be amazing. It is located 4 hours from Brisbane and about 1 hr 15 min from Stanthorpe but I can tell you the drive is worth every moment you will spend here. Our days were filled with relaxation , sitting by the fireplace, playing cricket, exploring the property, cooking our meals in the gourmet kitchen, sipping on a wine as we watched the amazing sunset then heading to the fire pit where we sat around the warmth and toasted marshmallows. This is an amazing place for the children and they hardly wanted to watch TV all weekend - they spent hours running around the property, collecting things and we even got to visit the pigs and chooks owned by the caretakers Keith and Lynda. There was never a fear in our mind of where our children were and we knew no matter where they were they were safe as there is no one else in miles. The house boasts 6 bedrooms and the hallway is something to be seen . I could keep going on about the property but all I can say is do yourself a favour and take the visit - we have already put in a booking to visit again next year. Oh and the caretakers Keith and Lynda are an absolute delight to deal with as is Paul the owner.

Wonderful Property

We have just spent Easter at this fantastic property. It surpassed our expectations. So much space and everything we could need. We had 10 people in our group and not once did we feel crowded or cramped.
