This property is located in Wilbur by the Sea, directly on the ocean. The house is approximately 25 feet above mean sea level, providing a superior view. The house was designed from its inception as a beach house and built in 1986. The house has been completly renovated in the last five years. Both bedrooms on the second floor have a large balcony and a great view of the ocean. The great room down stairs on the main floor is ideal for families and social entertaining. If you are going to the ocean to enjoy the ocean and the beach, this house is a superior choice.
The Master bedroom is located on the second floor and contains a King size bed and TV. The adjacent bath includes a whirlpool tub, shower, large walk in closet, and dressing vanity.
The Second bedroom is located upstairs and contains a Queen size bed and TV. The bath includes a shower, sauna, and dressing vanity.
The Third bedroom is located on the main floor and contains two twin beds.
The private bath includes a shower.
A half bath is located just off the great room. Two outdoor showers are located on the side of the deck.
The house had a great view! You could walk from the living room onto the deck and then directly down to the ocean. We loved the view from the great big windows. The house was comfortable and had just about everything we needed. Only one roll of tissue paper in each bathroom, so be sure to buy some on your way there. The front did not have any lights outside, so it was hard to find when arriving. A few tiles were loose on the outside front walkway, and it made it a tripping hazard, so be aware. The dryer in the laundry room didn't get hot (just tumbled cool) so we used the one in the garage (which had no lights). The front door latch got stuck from time to time and it was hard to open. In the master bedroom (not sure about others) there were no pillow protectors or mattress pad protector, and the pillow had dried blood on it. Other than these small issues, the house was fantastic! Brand new faucets, terrific kitchen appliances that were fairly new. We loved the quiet end of the beach, and walked to the peer some days (for lunch or ice cream). The deck was awesome (although the lounge chairs were broken). A great place to have breakfast or lunch outside while watching the ocean. The faucets and most toilets seemed new through the house. It seems a lot of work had recently been done. There is a tall windy staircase up to the 2nd and 3rd bathroom which is hard for some to use, but it was beautiful and fit the house perfectly. It was very spacious and comfortable. Loved sitting by the large windows facing the ocean, sitting in the big comfy leather chairs. It is a great price for a very nice house. We would absolutely stay there again. Oh, the kitchen had everything that you would need to cook. We cooked dinners every night and played games at the big table which seated six comfortably. The house was very clean.
This home was very nice. Gave us ok sleeping space - the queen/full size bed besides the big master is only good for a married couple wanting a smaller bed or two young chikdren. Our youngest is 12 and she and her sister had a hard time sleeping that close. One just chose the floor. Another two are supposed to be on a living room pullout, but since there is only one open room of living space that combines kitchen/dining/living, two older kids were in the middle of that area. The room with twins was good. Very nice location on the beach away from hotel traffic. However, it felt to us like they're just renting it to try to make some money while it's being sold. There was a note on the counter when we arrived saying the oven had gone out and a new one wouldn't be there during our stay. We understand that these things happen, but since they knew in advance, it would have been nice to text and let us know so we didn't buy things that had to be baked. The washer and dryer were not usable, which was unfortunate since we had just returned from a cruise and were counting on it. I did one load on warm/warm and it was so hot it was still steaming when opened the lid after it has spun, and a decal on a shirt that had been washed many times on warm at home had peeled right off! Most things were still folded just as they were when they were thrown in - if something wasn't shaken all the way open. This is because the agitator barely worked. We had to reach in and hand agitate the clothes on the one load we did. Then the temperatures on the dryer were way off. They were just old. I'm a bit concerned about how they get linens clean, except that the water was so hot that maybe it doesn't matter. We did not alert them to this while we were there because we knew it couldn't be fixed within 3 days. I did, however, let Yvonne know by text when we left and never heard back from anyone. We also let her know then that only one out of maybe 4? lights on the front and walkway were working, making it very dark, and technically unsafe, when approaching the front door. Someone could easily hide in that area between the non-locking gate and the front door! I'm sure they'll have them fixed or lightbulbs replaced before the next person. Anyway - nice home, just not terribly up to date or well cared for. Adequately clean but not super clean. Nice location. Decent supplies there for us. Giving it a 4 star is a bit generous, but it doesn't deserve a 3.
We rented this property for our 30th anniversary vow renewal/vacation and we couldn't have been any happier. The location was private and beautiful, yet close enough to town to be convenient. The home was beautiful, clean, comfortable, provided everything we needed, plus extras like bikes, beach chairs and boogie boards. The owners were easy to work with and quick to respond. I would recommend this home to friends and family and definitely rent it again if we were going to be staying in the area.
The house was very clean and taken care of. It is located just south of Daytona beach. The stretch of beach that the home sits on is very quiet and does not allow cars to drive on it.
We enjoyed watching the sun rise and eating breakfast while watching the Dolphins. We spent our mornings on the beach and our afternoons exploring. The home is located a few miles from Ponce Inlet light house, and Daytona Beach. We also took day trips to Orlando (2 hrs), St. Augustine (1hr), and Kennedy Space Center (1hr).
The house is very spacious. Our family of four did not use all of the rooms. We had everything we needed to make it feel like home. It was a fun and relaxing week for our family!
This is the 2nd time we have rented your beach house. We love your house and are so pleased with how clean it is. It is literally steps to the beach and that is exactly what we look for in our vacation. We are sad to see you're selling the house. We have enjoyed renting from you Janet and Fred. Whoever purchases it will love all the views and how nicely kept the house has been. Thank you for 2 years of amazing vacations! We will miss your house!
We stayed here with our four children for spring break & had a wonderful time! We would love to go back :)
