About marilyn macdonald
Our names are Gerald and Marilyn and we are both native Cape Bretoners (several generations behind us and two in front!). We own a business in the Village of Whycocomagh called The Bayside (www. thebaysidegardencentre.com). It is one of our goals to increase the economy of our community and by purchasing this property and renovating it as a vacation home we will help bring people (just like you!) to our area to enjoy what is offered in the way of natural beauty, friendly people, and a lovely place to vacation.
marilyn macdonald purchased this House in 2016
Why marilyn macdonald chose Whycocomagh
A friend of ours was moving out of her family home and we knew just what a special location this home was situated on. We had the skills and resources to renovate, update and make this home into a perfect vacation home. We love the property, location and the feel of the home. It is clean, accessible and has a very "homey" feel to it. A place that you can let your hair down (extremely private) and put your feet up!
What makes this House unique
The location of the property is central in the Village of Whycocomagh and offers walking distance to all basic services. The natural beauty and the privacy of the lot sealed the deal for us when we thought about turning this into a vacation home as the view from the front of the house is spectacular. The house is quite accessible for elderly or the very young; we have outfitted a wonderful kitchen for cooking; the bedrooms are very clean and fresh feeling; and overall, a lovely comfortable home. Our island of Cape Breton offers so much and Whycocomagh is a central location to access all of the Island. Close to golf courses, hiking, water sports, snowmobiling, cultural events - lots to see and do!!

Clean, comfortable, all the amenities we needed, close to all activities we enjoyed, wonderful finds in the neighbourhood like Charlene’s and Farmer’s Daughter. The community was friendly, we had a lovely time and appreciated the fact the owner stopped by and gave us many suggestions.
