History of the Guest House: Kirk Beatley is a fourth generation Washingtonian whose family has lived on Capitol Hill since the late 1800s, and where he continues to live today with his wife and two children. In 1905, Kirk's Great-Grandmother, Margaret, purchased this1890 Victorian home to entice her newly married daughter, Nell, to raise her own family in the neighborhood. Nell and her husband, John Luskey, raised their 12 children in this home.

In 2008 Kirk purchased the house from relatives who had owned or lived in the house since 1905, and then Kirk and his family spent over two years meticulously restoring and renovating the home, blending old-world Victorian charm and grace with new world appliances and technology.

Today, Kirk's family, a fifth generation of Washingtonians, are honored to offer you the opportunity of experiencing residential living in their newly updated family's house, in the heart of our Nation's Capitol, at the Historic Eastern Market on Capitol Hill!

Well kept, enchanting original architectural features, with the convenience of modern amenities.

Conviently located condo, dining, transportation, all within walking distance. Was nice to come back to quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Would recommend to anyone that wants to be in the center of a historical district, with easy access to transportation to major tourist attractions.

This was a beautiful, clean place that is in a great location near the metro.

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay so much and Kirk was always available for any questions. It was such a cute, clean place to say that was literally 4 houses from the metro. In the evening after a day of sightseeing we could come back relax for a bit and head out to a number of restaurants right around the corner. This has the best location and Kirk was so easy to work with and I would definitely stay here again.

Great location - Great stay

First, this unit couldn't be more convenient. It truly is 1/2 a block from the Eastern Market Metro station. Eastern Market is great because it isn't far by metro from all of the DC sites. It also has plenty of restaurants, shopping, and even a pharmacy.

The apartment is very nice. Everything was up to date, the kitchen had very nice appliances, the furniture was comfortable, the TV was newer and hooked up to comcast. I came to DC for business meetings, so I was by myself but this was much more comfortable than a hotel room.

The one drawback some might find with this unit is that it is a second story apartment. As with most older units the stairs are a bit steep but this would only be a problem for someone that has a problem climbing stairs. Once in the unit, everything is on one level.

All the comforts of home!

Eastern Market suites is located right next to the metro, grocery store, CVS, locally owned restaurants and shops, minutes from the mall and museums; it was the perfect location for our stay in DC. The suite was clean, beautifully decorated and provided all the comforts of home: fully stocked kitchen with cookware, washer and dryer, separate living room, and a back porch for relaxing. If we are in town again, we will be staying here and would recommend our friends and family to stay here also. Thank you, Kirk!

A Wonderful Extended Weekend

My wife and I were in town for an extended weekend and found the Eastern Market Suites unit to be perfect for us. The unit is well appointed and extremely well located. The proximity to the Eastern Market Subway Station is a huge benefit and made it very easy for us to get where we needed to go. Kirk (the owner) was professional and helpful with our early check-in. We definitely recommend this rental unit to others and will try to reserve it again when we are planning to visit DC.
