Skiing in winter is pleasant, Val Thorens and the Three Valleys ski resort. It is the largest ski area in the world with 600 km of pistes.

We are living in the Paris region, and we love to use this duplex with all our family, to go to the mountains for skiing in the winter, and also to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the mountain during the summer.

Why Mr or Mme Picard chose Orelle

We purchased this duplex firstly because we love the Maurienne valley, with his wonderful mountain views.

In this region, the scenery is spectacular in both summer and in winter.

Nearby we find the legendary cols of the Tour de France.

And, also an entrances to the park of the 'parc de la Vanoise' is very close to Orelle.

In fact this duplex is our family home for holidays, where we love to meet us.

This residence is quiet, and the 2 balconies of the duplex offer a beautiful view of the mountain.

You will also see that the duplex is equipped for babies, because our children and grandchildren love to come at Orelle for holiday.

What makes this apartment unique

This spacious duplex is located in a residence that is easily accessible from the highway. Thus, the cities of Modane and St Michel de Maurienne are 5-10 minutes by car (even in winter).

Very accessible by road, the residence allows you to ski in the largest ski area in the world: Val Thorens (600 km of slopes).

And in the evening you will find peace and comfort in our SPA where you can enjoy massages and relaxing treatments.

And also a trip to Italy is very easy in both summer and winter.

Vacuum cleaner and iron available in the apartment. Wifi available in the restaurant bar and reception area. On arrival, the beds are made, and linen is provided. On departure, the apartment must be left in a state 'normal' clean-if not a special cleaning will be deducted from the deposit, based on the discrepancies. Baby equipment: For the comfort of your little one, there is a cot, a folding high chair, a bottle warmer, cutlery for children, a footstool, a pot for its needs and a sun bath.

Pleasant appartment, a little cramped if more than four. Well equipped as in the adverts of 2015.

Use Francoz in your satnav, NOT Orelle.

Phoned for 7p.m. arrival. Arrived 6:50p.m. in the dark. Nobody to welcome us on arrival. No directions to the appartment, nor how to pick up keys.

Rented for 4 weeks. On arrival a ludicrous inventory, partly in French to be checked.

Delivery of linen very poor. On second week smelled of cigarettes. Had to wash sheets and towels. Requested for Friday on the beginning of the third week. Was not delivered. Had to make up the beds on Saturday evening after our guests had arrived. Only one set was delivered instead of 2. Had to remake our bed with previosly used sheets. Not collected at the end of the third week. Fresh linen was delivered but not when agreed.

On departure, specifically asked for an inspection at 9:45 a.m. and nobody arrived until 10:00 after a phone call.

The owner was made aware of the issues and apologised and seemed concerned.

Floor underneath one bed had a lot of dust and fluff. We regularly used the vacuum cleaner in the appartment.

Major problem on fourth week. Whole resort taken over by (we were told) 500 students. Loud music until 2a.m. every night. Afterwards noisy students up to 3a.m. Changed bedrooms to avoid nightclub noise. Access to other appartments was now outside our bedroom. Drunken students kept us awake.

Reported noise to the manager of the resort. He advised moving to another resort. He was english and not sympathetic. Said owner of our appartment was told in advance and surprised that it was rented that week. Neither he nor owner made any changes so we left a day early due to lack of sleep.

Students took over restaurant which was cleared for 'clubbing'. No restaurant now in the whole resort. Bar unusable due to noise and drunken students.

Do not buy a lift pass in advance. First week all lifts closed for one day. Link to Val Thorens open one day only.

NOT suitable for beginners. One guest was a novice. Skiing far too difficult. Pistes badly maintained (mashed potato, unpisted then it became hard packed and icy).

Necessary to catch the 16:00 lift from Val Thorens to return. Last lift to Francoz was 16:30. Sometimes kept running for an extra hour due to the queues. Not possible to ski down to the appartments.

These are factual statements, not impressions. You can make up your own mind whether this is the resort or appartment for you.

Owner's Response: Bonjour, M. Malcolm Kraushaar à séjourné pendant 4 semaines dans notre duplex et au cours de son séjour des événements imprévus sont effectivement survenus. je regrette infiniment ces événements qui ont été inattendus et qui fort heureusement ne se sont plus jamais reproduits. Je voudrais aussi insister sur le fait que je suis intervenu très rapidement afin de régler les problèmes rencontrés par notre client, de façon à ce que le reste de son séjour se déroule bien, et surtout qu'il n'ait pas l'impression d'avoir été délaissé. Voici les dispositions énergiques qui ont été prises, pour que les problèmes décrits ne puissent plus se reproduire : Premièrement la personne chargée de l'accueil et du ménage qui s'était montrée négligente à été remplacée, et maintenant ce type de problème est définitivement corrigé. Deuxièmement au cours de la dernière semaine du séjour, de M. Malcolm Kraushaar, un groupe de jeunes à perturbé le calme de la résidence. Ce groupe dépendait d'une organisation qui aujourd'hui n'est plus accepté en tant que client dans la résidence. Et troisièmement, je suis personnellement intervenu auprès de la direction de la résidence, pour qu'un règlement intérieur soit créer, afin d'interdire les incivilités et le bruit sous peine de sanctions. Aujourd'hui dans la résidence, après 22 heure, les nuisances sonore sont interdites et sanctionnées. Sachez que je reste très attentif au confort de mes clients, et que tout à été mis en place pour que les problèmes mentionnés dans ce commentaire ne puisse se reproduire. Sachez aussi que mon duplex est spacieux, et très bien équipé pour que votre séjour se déroule le plus agréablement possible. et que je serais très heureux de vous y accueillir. Sejour calme et agréable

Nous étions dans le logement début Août. La résidence était vraiment super calme. Le logement était agréable (nous étions 4 adultes et 2 enfants), personne ne se marchait sur les pieds. La literie était top, on a tous dormis comme des bébés. Le petit plus était la piscine que nous n’avons pu essayer qu’une fois pour cause d’emploi du temps trop rempli :) Une petite suggestion cependant, pourquoi une pas prévoir une petite machine à café à dosette style Senseo ou Nespresso en remplacement de la cafetière standard à filtre ? :)

Un bon séjour entre amis

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans cet appartement. L'appartement a parfaitement répondu à nos attentes. Les deux salle de bain sont très utiles, surtout quand on est 6 adultes. Les pistes sont superbes et nous avions eu un temps de rêve. Malheureusement je me suis blessé et notre séjour à été écourté. Merci à Mr. Picard de s’être inquiété de mon état même après notre séjour.

Séjour Parfait

La résidence des hameaux des eaux d'Orelle est un endroit parfait pour passer une semaine à 25 minutes de Val Thorens.

L'appartement est très bien, propre, lumineux et bien équipé. Pour le reste tout se trouve à quelques pas (piscine, sauna, épicerie, navettes pour les remontées mécaniques)
