Villa Romarin is the perfect location for an idyllic self-catering holiday in this beautiful and still undiscovered part of Mediterranean France. It is easy to get to from several airports: Carcassonne, Perpignan, Toulouse, Montpellier, Béziers, Girona (Spain) and a short drive from the motorway. Fully equipped with every modern convenience, this is a perfect home from home in which to relax on the terrace or discover the delightful surrounding country with its beautiful Mediterranean beaches, coastal fishing villages and fascinating remains of Cathar castles. The local Corbières hills are ideal for walking or cycling and the more adventurous might like to explore the Pyrenées. Vineyards abound for local wine tasting along with several excellent restaurants in the area. The villa has a large decked area with a private pool and stunning views of the vineyard strewn hills, and on those warm, tranquil, summer evenings you can dine alfresco on the covered patio with it's built in barbecue.

Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The house is amazing... so much bigger than expected, and the views and surrounding area are lovely.
We stayed for 2 weeks in August/September with our 3 year old who immediately wanted to enjoy the pool. Sue has provided everything you could possibly need, as well as pool inflatables, bikes and board games.
Aside from lying by the pool enjoying the surroundings we visited plenty of places in the area including Cathar castles, beaches and some beautiful river swimming spots.
We were really sad to leave and hope to be back again soon.
Beautifully equipped stone cottage with swimming pool. Incredible views over the valleys and comfort which is home from home
Magnificent home in peaceful, magnificent setting!
Our recent trip to Villa Romarin has got to be up at the top of the list of our all time favourite holidays! From the moment we opened the door, it was obvious that the owners had poured their heart into this place. There are hundreds of books, a vast selection of movies & games and a kitchen so well stocked that a professional chef would have been thrilled! Although we wanted to switch off from devices for the holidays, we were thrilled with the TV for coverage of Roland Garros during our stay and were glad of the WiFi for the teens during this time too!
The open plan kitchen/dining/living area felt so much bigger than we imagined from the photos. The extraordinarily high ceilings helped keep the place nice and cool.
We loved the pool/ BBQ area and the view over the surrounding countryside is absolutely breathtaking!
The villa is part of a small gated community and is completely private at the rear. The facilities for waste disposal onsite were superb and there was a bottle bank nearby in the town.
We strolled to the village a number of times and it’s a very short stroll.
Dave & Jeanne who manage the property were super helpful with any questions we had and I must say they keep the villa in pristine condition.
We took day trips to Lagrasse, Collioure, Carcassonne, Villa-rouge Termines, etc during our stay and they were all well worth the trip. Also did a trip for kids birthdays to nearby Frenzy Palace Waterpark which was great fun! Sue the owner of the property sent us a list of great restaurants nearby. We didn’t get to try all of them but really loved Château Bonnafous (5 mins by car) and Place De Marchés (7 mins to Villesèque) for traditional French cuisine.
We hiked Mont Major in Villes-Rouge Termines on one of the days and it was truly spectacular.
The local Utile store has almost everything you need for your stay and the staff (particularly Mimi!) were all so helpful. Barely a word of English spoken, yet we got by on our pigeon French!
A “must-do” is a visit to the church beside the castle ruins in Durban-Corbierres. A short stroll from Villa Romarin and a look into an entirely different era.
It took us a few days to adapt to the slow, sleepy pace and by the time our last day came, we were so sad to be leaving. Remarkable home and can’t wait to return!
Sehr erholsame Ferien
Sehr erholsame Ferien, wunderbare Lage des Ferienhauses
Another great week
We stayed here in 2012 and came back again with different friends. The villa and pool were still as great the second time. The friends had never been to this area and fell in love with it. The weather was hot and sunny and we made good use of the pool. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Thank you Sue.
Lovely peaceful villa in the Aude.
We want to let you know that we had a wonderful stay at Villa Romarin. We must say it was one of our best holidays! You should be very proud to own this lovely villa in the South of France!
The view was spectacular! Our 3 kids enjoyed the pool very much and several games which were present. As a mountainbiker it was fun to use one of the mountainbikes to ride in the hills and to go shopping in the village.
We were pleased to have the necessary accommodation in the villa and appreciated the amount of books and CD’s.
We visited the beach at Port-La-Nouvel, the market in Sigean (every Tuesday), Leucate, La Franqui, Narbonne, Lagrasse, Perpignan, Carcasonne, Minerve and Collioure even twice.
We certainly will come back the discover more of the Corbières region!
Durban-Corbières is located in the heart of the majestic Fitou, Corbières and Minervois wine producing region. The village centre with its tennis courts, bar/restaurant, bank, doctors' surgery, petrol station, supermarket, bakery, chemist and other shops is a short, pleasant walk from the villa. For swimming and wind-surfing, the beautiful Mediterranean beaches at Leucate and Le Franqui are only 40 mins away . The renowned African wildlife reserve at Sigean is 30 mins away. Further afield are the Pyrenées to the south for walking and skiing, whilst to the north is the Canal du Midi. Wherever you go, you are not far from Cathar history and the remains of their spectacular castles, including the citadel at Carcassonne. Throughout the year there are festivals in the towns and cities such as Carcassonne, Perpignan and Montpellier. For something different there is the lure of tax free shopping in Andorra, or you may wish to cross the border into Spain to visit the Dali museum at Figueres.
Ski: Skiing is available during the winter in the Pyrenées - about 1 1/2 hours' drive.
