About Grainne and Tim Maunsell

I'm Gráinne, originally from Co. Kildare and raised in a small family run hotel. I am married to Tim who is now retired from An Garda Siochána (Irish Police). Tim and I purchased this property in 1986 and lived here for a number of years until our family grew and we needed to relocate. We loved living in this area and have many happy memories of our first home here. I have consistently worked in the hospitality industry and always wanted to provide holiday accommodation here as I felt this to be an ideal location. I have been lucky enough to have realized my dream. I pay particular attention to detail and set the highest of standards in cleanliness and customer care. Our aim is to ensure that you really feel at home and comfortable in our apartment and we will endeavor to assist you in any way with any aspect of your vacation, so that you get the most out of your trip to Dublin. We are at the end of the phone 24 hours a day if you need any assistance. Assuring you of our best attention.

Why Grainne and Tim Maunsell chose Dublin Southside

We chose this location because of close proximity to downtown Dublin. We loved the period red brick property with large rooms. Fantastic large enclosed rear

What makes this cottage unique

The most unique benefit is the location. Only 10 minutes from downtown Dublin with that real at home feeling when you arrive back after your day out. In the Summer time, we enjoyed many barbeques out back, and found it peaceful and quiet. One huge benefit and highly unusual in a city apartment is the amount of both indoor and outdoor space.

Nice Stay quiet area, and safe

  • 4 of 5

Clean and quiet, Valerie was there to help with incidentals like cups and coffee maker, she bought new coffee cups and glasses and 2 French press coffee makers. Any concerns were taken care of right away. Graham Walsh did a fabulous job picking us up at the airport, taking us on a private tour and getting us back to the airport in plenty of time for departure. I highly recommend his service. I would stay here again if I was in the area. Getting around by bus is a breeze, would recommend getting the leap card for your stay.

Very convenient place in all aspects

  • 5 of 5

We felt very good at James Connelly Cottage, I recommend it to anyone who would like to visit Dublin. The place is exactly as it is described - equipped with everything you need. Transport links are a great advantage - they lead you directly to the most important places in Dublin. And after a long day you have the tranquility for a good rest. The other great convenience is Graham's ability to get you from the airport of arrival and take you on your way - it's just like a clock and a very nice person. Thanks to him and our hosts our stay in Dublin was impeccable. I express their gratitude to them from our entire group of 5 people.

Perfect place for our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time in Dublin! We stayed in the James Connolly cottage with four young children. It was great! Perfect location - we were able to walk to stores, pubs, a playground (kids' favorite). It was also easy access to bus line and/or taxis. And then it was just a quick ride into the city center.

The cottage itself was even better than I had hoped it would be. So spacious! We had plenty of space for the six of us. My kids really felt "at home" in the cottage. And it was so nice that it was it's own building, and set behind the busy street - peacefully quiet.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay! Thank you!!

An excellent place to stay in Dublin

  • 5 of 5

The Inchicore area turned out to be a great location, with good connections to the city centre via the LUAS train. This property was a great option for a family travelling together. We stayed in the cottage, and were able to sleep 8 although it was tight. The rooms are a bit small but it has everything you need. Any requests were dealt with quickly and attentively by the owners. The lady who worked there, Valerie, was very friendly and gave lots of tips and advice. The owners put us in contact with Graham, who did a great job driving us to and from the airport, as well as a day excursion to Glendalough. I also recommend the nearby Black Lion Inn for both the food and the pub atmosphere.
