About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

Our vacation rental, the East Wing has been created with flexibility, restfulness and comfort in mind. It is a bright and sunny one-bedroom apartment, decorated with LLBean furnishings, local art and photography. Cozy quilts invite you to a restful night's sleep or afternoon naps. Enjoy our mature perennial gardens or a walk in the woods. Leave your bedroom window open during the night and you might hear the resident owl hoo-hooing or the neighborhood coyotes yipping. Comfortable air conditioning keeps you cool during hot summer days.

In the summer, see if our strawberries or blueberries are ready for your breakfast and visit the nearby farm stand for the freshest produce ever. Head to one of Biddeford Pool's exclusive beaches for some boogie boarding and then pick up some locally caught lobsters for your evening meal. Colder months are great for nearby Nordic skiing.

It really is the perfect home base for a beach vacation, a food and wine delight, a lighthouse exploration or a writer's retreat.

We would love to introduce you the beauty and richness of Southern Maine. The East Wing is literally minutes from some of the nicest beaches in Maine, wonderful kayaking and quiet walking trails, 20 minutes from Portland or Kennebunkport and about 45 minutes from the home of LLBean in Freeport, outlet shopping in Kittery or mountain hikes. This is just the beginning of our favorites list! We think that Maine is an amazing place to live and love sharing it as only native Mainers can.

We want to make sure that you have all the privacy that you deserve on vacation, so we are always available when you arrive and depart and as needed for other helpful things like directions, restaurant recommendations, advice on day trips, etc. Otherwise, we let you have as much privacy as you wish. We invite you to sample our quiet hospitality.

Why Kathryn Favre chose Biddeford

Biddeford has beautiful unspoiled beaches, where access is limited to residents and guests. Our location is close to all city amenities and toursit attractions, but off the beaten path enough to enjoy local wildlife for neighbors. We have an unusually private and quiet wooded setting that is perfect for relaxing.

Enjoyable, quiet stay

  • 5 of 5

Has a fantastic time using this beautiful Biddeford home. Quiet, beautiful, and private. Had everything that you could want for a place to stay. The house was immaculate and the grounds were beautiful with gardens, raspberry bushes, tomato plants, etc. Kathi was a phenomenal hostess who offered her suggestions as well as a 3-ring binder full of great ideas of things to do in Portland, Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, etc. The home is about 30-40 minutes to both Portland/Ogunquit (without traffic) which was the only down-side that it was a hike to get most places.

A comfortable and quiet place with a great host

  • 5 of 5

Kathryn was the most welcoming host. Her apartment was actually more spacious than expected. The king size bed was very comfortable, the view on the flowers and the wood was lovely. It is a very quiet place, away from the road. We even met a deer on the path leading to the apartment! The place very very clean, equipped with everything one might need. Kathryn lent us a map of the area and shared her secret spots for enjoying the beach and parking for free. I strongly recommend her place. Thank you! Élisabeth

A Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband booked a surprise honeymoon, and this is where we stayed. It was a bit of a trek from Boston where we drove to a couple times, but a much needed escape from the hustle and bustle. The place is nicely tucked away in a wooded yard, so you feel like you're in your own little world even though it's close to all modern conveniences. The yard is gorgeous with lots of flowers and bushes. It is well stocked, so you don't need many extras along. There's a BBQ to do your own grilling and a well stocked kitchen. We had a blast one night ordering fresh lobsters from Hannaford and cracking them open using lobster instruction plates and supplies that Kathi has there :D. They even supplied us with beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards for our time at the beach. The beach is very close...maybe an 8-10 minute drive. It was busy enough, but we found more privacy at the end of the beach. Refreshing water, fun waves, and a nice sandy bottom. The owner Kathi and her husband were very down to earth and helpful. She had a whole binder of recommendations in the area of things to see and do and she was always just a text, call, or email away if we needed anything. At the same time, we had our own space and privacy: it was relaxing and inviting. We highly recommend staying here. Thanks again, Kathi and Bob!

A lovely surprise!

  • 5 of 5

Though at first we thought we weren't "near anything", we quickly realized this was a great spot to come back to after a day of exploration. Kathy & Bob have figured it out and our over the garage apartment was perfect for two. Totally updated & furnished beautifully w/ all the nice finishes you might look for. It is a comfortable, put your feet up kind of place. You don't need to bring a thing.....Kathy has thought if it all and put it right where you would expect it to be! We spent a full day exploring beaches and lighthouses and another day in Freeport. We found some good restaurants close by and were more than happy to come back "home" at the end of the day. We would definitely return and recommend to others.

Lovely location. Peaceful but within about 5mins to beach . Close many of the main attractions.

  • 5 of 5

Kathi and Bob are delightful friendly and hospitable hosts who like to share their knowledge of the area. Kathi drove us to the beach to show us the different areas and where to park( very helpful). The house has everything you need and an outside gazebo area to sit and relax in.

Thank you both for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Julie & Derek
