About the property

"The best vacation rental in Dillon Beach!"

A new 5 Star vacation Rental in Dillon Beach from 5StarVR.com. Bikini Bottom has just undergone a complete renovation and remodel and everything is brand spanking new! High end finishes and appliances with creative designer touches adorn this incredible contemporary ocean front home with sweeping views of the ocean, beach and Tomales bay. The location is also fantastic, just a couple minute walk to beach path on Kailua Way. We truly feel that this is the very best vacation rental in all of Dillon Beach.

You enter a room of windows which perfectly frames views of Dillon Beach and Tomales Head. The bright and open great room includes the living room, dining area and kitchen and opens onto a large deck perched above the ocean. The spacious living room area features a very large sectional sofa, comfy chair, gas fire place and a very large flat screen TV. The dining area is defined by a large glass top table supported with a massive tree root base. The designer kitchen features stainless steel appliances, two ovens, a gas range with hood and an enormous island with wrap around counter top and seating for 6. There are 4 bedrooms on the main level all with king sized beds. Two of the bedrooms have vanities with sinks in the rooms and the other 2 have full baths with showers. The main bathroom is at the end of the hall between the bedrooms. The lower level has another great room with a smaller kitchenette, Poker table and living space with a sofa sleeper and a very large flat screen TV. There is another room set up as a children bunk room with 4 bunk beds and a full bath with Shower. This house also has a hot tub.

Best view in town

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Home is gorgeous, furnishings are beautiful and super comfortable for our large party. The before and after remodel job is amazing. Down to the amenities like a bathroom heater and electronic window blinds, very nice. The jacuzzi and hammock swings were AWESOME. And without a doubt, literally the BEST view in the entire town of Dillon Beach. Nearby beach access was also very convenient and a lot less crowded, although the trek can be a little treacherous towards the end for the less agile.

Cons/Caveats: Don't go here expecting a warm beach getaway, particularly if it's summertime. We arrived to complete blankets of fog and chill, but enjoyed pockets of sunshine here and there.

And the WiFi is as intermittent as the fog. I had no signal all weekend with AT&T, but i'm not complaining about the chance to disconnect. Also pretty isolated (good and bad). Bring in everything you need. Had dinner at Nick's Cove one night, and considered venturing out to Bodega Bay, but even though it looks close by on the map, that windy road makes it a much longer drive.

Nice to haves: Fire pit for those chilly nights (although not sure where this would fit) and beach supplies (like chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards)

Overall, great choice for a family getaway by the coast. Know what to expect and prepare accordingly.

Lovely home...location is limiting

  • 3 of 5

If I were reviewing the home alone- I would give it a 5 Star. It’s clean, decorated very nicely, soft towels, nice bedding, adequately stocked kitchen and enough space. But location is everything. For a summer location, I would give the home 0 stars. There is nothing near Dillon Beach. Except cows. Lots of happy cows. There is no grocery store and no restaurant (I guess one is being remodeled). And the weather in the summer is awful. 2 weather apps promised sunny and warm weather. Even when we arrived to find it very cold (58 degrees), and cloudy/foggy, and windy as can be the weather apps still say it’s sunny...conspiracy with the state of California to boost tourism?! Lol. I would have loved to know this as we planned this 3 days of our vacation for beach days. We never saw the sun. We didn’t use the beach. It was actually depressing. Locals explained that Northern California is always cold and cloudy on the coast in the summer. We drove to warm inland towns to find something to do. And grocery shopped about 40 minutes away and cooked our meals. I’m sure it’s a great place to be if you want to hang at the house during a time of year when the weather is nice.

Absolutely stunning!!!

  • 5 of 5

The weekend we spent in this fabulous house was second to none! Being newly remodeled, every design feature, accessory, and detail was perfect. The whole house was comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. In addition to the house being so fabulous, the location just can’t be beat! We enjoyed the easy access to the beach, the fantastic views from both the upper deck as well as the lower level, and even saw deer walking in front of the house! We had so much fun we decided to make coming to Bikini Bottom an annual trip!

Amazing bachelorette weekend

  • 5 of 5

We visited Bikini Bottom as a group of 11 women for a bachelorette weekend. The house was amazing--sweeping views, well equipped kitchen, big gathering space. The four upstairs rooms are great. The downstairs bunk room was pretty cramped for adults, and we ended up having some sleep on couches instead of the beds. Everyone had a wonderful time and said it was one of the best house rentals they had ever stayed in.

The hot tub and hammock chairs were beyond words.

Next time I will bring a surf board!

Everything was perfect

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully remodeled home and the location couldn’t have been more idyllic. Loved sitting on the deck looking at the ocean. If it got to windy we just sat in the living room with the wall of windows and enjoyed the ocean from inside. Beds were comfortable, water pressure in the shower was great, House was super comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back!

Beautiful home with a gorgeous view

  • 5 of 5

This was the best home on the street as far as the view of the ocean. We enjoyed the huge windows while sitting in the kitchen and family room. Even the downstairs had a great view. Plenty of space for all 9 of us (4 adults and 5 kids). The beach was very close (.5 mile) and we even explored climbing down the cliff down the street. Was fun exploring the low tides for sea creatures. Enjoyed using the telescope to watch surfers and dolphins down below. Hot tub and 3 hammock swings were a bonus.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your great review. There is much closer beach access than driving 1/2 mile to the beach parking lot. There is a path just a couple hundred yards down the road next to 5 Kailua Way so you can walk there in just a couple minutes. The house binder has information on this. Please come back soon and try it out. Randy
