The cottage provides a large open plan living area. The fully equipped kitchen opens onto the indoor dining area, which flows through to the lounge area. At the far end of the lounge, the sleeping area opens via bi-fold doors onto a paved courtyard which has two outdoor showers. There is also an indoor bathroom with large shower, toilet, vanity basin and bidet. The separate laundry has a washing machine, dryer, ironing board etc. The lounge and dining areas open onto a wide deck with outdoor dining table and lounge chairs. The deck has expansive views of the Numinbah and Coomera Valleys and the volcanic plug of Egg Rock. All this is on the northern slope of the Mt Warning caldera - considered one of the thirteen most significant land forms in Australia.
The heated outdoor spa is great after a hike or at sunset, by moonlight, starlight or even in light rain. The spa and bath-house are shared with the main house next door but not at the same time. When you want to use the spa you just draw the full length curtains on the opposite side for breeze control and privacy.

For a change of scene the Gold Coast with its beaches and theme parks is a 45 minute drive and other nearby mountain resorts include Springbrook, Mt Tamborine and O'Reillys Green Mountains on the other side of Lamington.
