About Peggy Binzel

Love urban life; also, love the isolated beach with amazing wildlife. Scotland is a welcome retreat from hectic city life.

Why Peggy Binzel chose Chesapeake Bay

Scotland is a rare find. Rarely do you find an area that begins with beautiful forests and opens up onto fabulous beaches. Little traffic but only 2 hours from Washington or Baltimore. I discovered a jewel.

What makes this cottage unique

Sunrise over the Bay with morning coffee is heavenly. Walks on the beach. Take a 30 minute kayak ride or a 5 hours one - very convenient out the front door. Enjoy a tasting of good quality local wines at beautiful Woodlawn plantation just 10 miles away.

Summerlee Cottage

  • 5 of 5

OMG, this is such an amazing place, the weather, water, and sunshine were amazing. Peggy has a top notch crew that accented our stay with their personal service and attention. We have never stayed in a place such as this but will definitely return. The real difference was the communication, the place was great enough but the attention to our emails and phone calls were an 11. Fantastic job Peggy and crew and thank you for making our stay a very memorable one.

Loved this property

  • 5 of 5

I just got back from a four night stay at the Summerlee cottage. I had the best vacation ever and I have traveled Europe, the Islands, Costa Rica and all around the US. I have had some major medical issues over the past three months and needed to get away for a few days. My partner Toni, my dog Champ and I chose this property to stay for some quiet time away from home. The house was wonderful and clean. Everything looked like new. From the first moment I arrived to the last minute when I left, I felt like a new person. I was so relaxed and stress free. This property has a great outside area to just sit and relax. I did just that every morning and evening. The private beach area on the river was great. We spent hours each day just sitting in our chairs in the shade under the tree's that were on the beach and it is only a minute's walk from the cottage. It was so quiet there that I felt like I was on a private island somewhere. We went out to Courtney's and had the BEST crab cakes ever. This is a family ran business and so friendly. You should make sure that you stop on the way to pick up items that you will need about 45-60 minutes before arriving. I did this and figured that I would stop at one of the country stores and pick-up milk and meats. Well, I ended up having to drive about 35 minutes to do this after I checked into the cottage. This property is located in a farming community. Loved it being away from the city and all the traffic and noise. I can not say enough good things about this property. I will be going back for sure. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cottage. I left feeling like a new person and after all that I have experienced over the past three month's this is saying a lot. It was like experiencing life in a whole new world. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

I've been to three different properties and they've all been fantastic the bikes, the beach, the kayaks, the people you meet, the way they keep it nice and clean the way it's nice and quiet and the way they help you find your cat when it's missing! Love this place!

It's worth it!

  • 5 of 5

A little cozy cottage with lavender on the front yard and a private beach. We were stunned. There was everything we needed and even more. No one bothered us. Kayaking and bike riding was a lot of fun. And we are definitely planning on coming back. The only inconvenience- sand from the feet would accumulate on the floor and we wish we had a broom to sweep it out !

Owner's Response: Oops. There should have been a broom. We'll make sure it has been replaced.

Love, Love, Love!

The cottage has to be the most adorable beach getaway! Perfect for my husband and I. Tastefully decorated, well appointed... truly a home away from home! Close proximity to the beach while maintaining a sense of privacy. We loved it and can't wait to plan the trip back!

Peaceful with things to do and see

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I had a very nice time at the cottage. The beach was nice and we enjoyed the morning sunrises. The amenities were great. It was like a home away from home without all of the craziness. Since we both like history, there were many things to do and see during the week. I would definitely recommend this to friends. Thanks for a wonderful week.
