Overview

About the property

For your added security, this property is only managed in Australia and we never request payments be made to overseas bank accounts.

Bookings are two-night minimum. We can't do one-night stays. At Christmas/New Year it's a five-night minimum and three-nights for long weekends.

Magical Myoora retreat is a modern house in a rainforest setting in the delightful Foxground valley. You are only 10 minutes from Seven Mile Beach at Gerroa and Werri Beach at Gerringong and the historic town of Berry. Wake up to the sounds of lyrebirds and kookaburras in this bush setting. The valley has a long history of dairy and cattle farming. You are sure to see kangaroos grazing and you may be lucky enough to spot echidnas and wombats.

Myoora is a stunning modern design using steel and glass to provide the feeling of intimacy with the environment. It's as if you're living in the surrounding trees. The house comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen size beds and a 3rd bedroom with 2 sets of double bunks with the bottom bunk being a double bed size. The living space, as seen in the photos, includes the kitchen and living area and opens on to a huge deck. In winter you can snuggle in front of the wood stove. Myoora was completed in December 2008 and has been nominated for several architectural awards.

If you are planning a party, however, this is NOT the right place for you. It is a non-smoking house and as it is in the bush, where neighbours value the quiet, we do not want noisy guests.

Modern architecture in the countryside

  • 5 of 5

Our friends booked us in with them for 4 nights and month after our stay I'm still fondly reliving Myoora. Staying in a large modern house that's been thoughtfully designed by an architect is really cool. We will definitely be back. I left something behind and the owner very kindly posted it back to me. Morning jogs over the creek through the country lanes, cosy wood fire in the lounge, and massive kitchen to gather in. Have stayed in a lot of cute rural cottages but this was the best retreat........unique.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much. Please come again -- for a longer stay! It's great in summer too, especially with our new outdoor cold shower.

Amazing Location. Unique Property

  • 5 of 5

Diana's property is by far one of the best houses I have ever stayed in. The location is superb - set on a quiet block, surrounded by bush/rainforest, you can hear nothing but wildlife and the bubbling of the creek below. This is a truly unique and special place.

The house itself is stunning - plenty of natural light, wonderfully designed, it utilizes glass and steel to create an open environment. You feel like you are perched in the trees. It has a wonderful outdoor entertaining area and a BBQ, and the kitchen/dining is great for entertaining.

Diana was great to communicate with. This place is ideal for a relaxing break, solo or with friends. I hope to come back soon.

Beautiful weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a stunning escape from the city! We stayed at Myoora for my partner's birthday and had the most amazing time. Set in lush Foxground - it's a great base to explore nearby Gerroa, Berry and Gerringong...or just kick back on the gorgeous deck!

We were hesitant to write this review; hoping to keep Myoora a secret! The place itself is amazing; the glass windows and doors open the whole place up to the tranquil sounds of birds, running water and cows! There's a big kitchen, BBQ and stunning master bedrooms. The highlight for us was the lounge room with it's huge sliding glass windows (& a fireplace for winter).

We will definitely be back!

Cosy little hideaway

  • 3 of 5

The house is set in a spectacular location surrounded by nothing but farmland and farm animals. The scenery is absolutely outstanding. The architecture of the house is beautiful and it has a amazing fireplace which we sat around every evening and into the night. There is a great outdoor area with a BBQ which we used daily and you can hear the gushing of a nearby river so everything about this place is so beautiful. The kitchen cutlery and crockery is a bit dated and the bathrooms were really unclean (with stains) when we checked in which was really unpleasant which we communicated back to the owner. Great place overall but definitely has room for improvement.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review, we are looking into the bathroom situation. This is the first time anybody has said anything about that but they will certainly be spotless for the next guests. Some of the kitchen items are personal ones that came from the old farmhouse. They will be removed as will any old cups. Everything else is new and clean.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

I had my hen's weekend here in early March. The location is perfect - close to Berry and not far to beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and rainforest walks. The house is far enough away from other properties that all you hear is the wildlife and running creek. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck looking at the stars and taking in the fresh air. The house is beautiful and gives everyone enough space to relax. The living areas overlook the beautiful scenery with floor to ceiling windows, all of which can be opened up. Not once did we want to turn on the TV. The furnishings are extremely comfortable with high quality linen and bedding, and decorative elements from, it seems, all over the world. I highly recommend this beautiful place and cannot wait to go back.
