Great weekend away

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our needs. It had a fully enclosed fence and our dog enjoyed exploring the backyard. Short walk to great beaches and facilities. Everything was clean and easy to use. We would love to come back again.

Simply relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Second time I've stayed here. Love the proximity right near back beaches for walks or runs along the coastal parks. Quite street. Drive cautiously the for high rise (just before house) on road but it's nothing rough. Short drive to Sorrento shops and beaches. Easy to get to from Melbourne. House is a rustic beach shack type of accommodation, with everything you could need in a well equipped kitchen to cook own meals, even salt and pepper in case you forgot to pack. Rustic appeal is exactly what suits me so I feel I get away from my suburban home. Perfect large table for card games and actual conversations in world connected 24/7. Still is clean and tidy. The ping pong table (a bonus) and shelf of interesting books, huge outdoor area and décor all add to the beach shack appeal. I hope to come back another time. Maybe in winter to enjoy warm evenings by the fire after walks along the coast.

(My stay was January 2016. At time of my review Stayz website did not offer 2016 as option so reads 2015)

Cosy home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We had two great nights at "Above the Trees" and would have loved to stay longer. We enjoyed long walks along the beautiful beaches, lunch outside on the deck, a game of table tennis, and good conversations inside your cosy house. A fantastic place to spend quality time.

Ideal getaway in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Just spent 5 days over Easter at "Above the Trees" along with our 15 mth old spoodle, Bella and had a really relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay. Location is very easy to find and close enough to walk to a beachside National Park or to the local brilliant General Store for morning coffee and paper. One of the most comfortable queen size beds we've ever slept in and a very well appointed kitchen. Two other bedrooms as well. Large dining table seats 6 and two very comfortable couches for afternoon naps. Very well positioned deck gets lots of sun perched above the trees - just ideal for poring over the papers or settling into a good book. Solid fuel heater with ample wood for nighttime cosy fires and an ample store of fascinating reading material. Very clean and well presented. Our dog loved her adventures in the bushy but secure back garden and spent afternoons on the deck lapping up the sun. We will be returning for future weekends and we recommend this accomodation highly.

A relaxing hideaway

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for a week in January 2015 - two adults and two children. The house has a nice chilled out beach shack vibe, with comfy couches and a large private deck that catches the afternoon sun. The house is on a quiet gravel road. You can walk along the road to the end and take a 10 minute stroll along sandy tracks through the scrub to reach an unpatrolled surf beach. This place makes you feel as if you are somewhere wild and remote, even though you are a short drive away from modern amenities such as supermarkets. The back garden is a jungle - great for kids to run around and explore.
