I stayed at this cabin for 2 nights with my husband, children and in laws. This place was absolutely amazing, I promise the pictures do not do it justice!!! We were all so disappointed that our stay wasn't longer.
The first night it was only my mother in law, sister in law, daughter and myself since the men were hiking the Grand Canyon. I was VERY worried about the whole "generator thing" since I have no experience with that type of stuff. I was even more worried when we ended up being there on a very overcast/rainy day! I ended up having to start the generator, but truly it was not difficult at all! The instructions were very straight forward and easy to follow.
The lack of internet and TV was not an issue. They had a good selection of DVDs that we enjoyed watching. I have Verizon and had good cell service.
The cabin was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas! We are hoping our travels bring us back to this property again!
My husband and I stayed at this cabin with our two dogs, and we had a wonderful time. We liked being in this remote and beautiful location where our dogs could run around and explore, and enjoyed the relatively quick drive to the Grand Canyon. The only downside was the lack of internet or television, but I suppose that is a plus for some people looking to get away. The cabin itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and we never had to worry about the generator during our two day stay.
Our family of four enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Eco-cabin. Our kids were literally dancing with excitement when we arrived, and all agreed the property is better in person than what you see in photos. Has a very modern, well-planned feel, very clean and all the comforts of home. One thing in particular you don't understand until you get there is how tucked away the cabin is, even from the gravel road you drive down off the main highway. You follow a winding driveway and don't see the whole cabin until you get there. This contributes to the 'away from it' ambience we yearned for. The power did go out on us several times during our stay, but was easily rectified by resetting the main (described in the materials sent in advance). I'm sure this would have been addressed by running the generator, but we chose to just deal with resetting the main. A special thanks to Roger for the hospitality that seems present throughout your stay.
Our family of six stayed in this clean (important to us) and well kept home. We loved the quiet and the nice drive to the Canyon. We ran daily on the dirt roads and enjoyed the GORGEOUS stars at night. Amazing. We did have to use the generator two of the nights for a while, which worked just fine. Thanks, Roger, for a great stay.
Lovely, well maintained cabin located 25 miles from the south rim. Clean, well maintained, cabin with nearly all the comforts of home. Run on solar power! We loved it! It was a unique experience in a gorgeous setting...
We had a great time at the cabin. Close to the Canyon but away from everything. We had three couples and loved the large kitchen and living room for hanging out in as well as the porch with the grill. And if you live in the city and haven't seen stars for a while get outside at night and enjoy the view! The only issue we had was the generator would quit working on occasion but would fire right back up. Overall a great place to stay and I would rent again.
