About this property

Mas renovated with care, offering beautiful volumes and a lot of authenticity as well as all the desired comfort for a charming and relaxing holiday. This pretty property offers a warm and quiet interior composed of classic living rooms but also an orangery with a real bar whose large bay windows give you access to the garden/internal courtyard, a TV lounge and a playroom on the mezzanine for small children....
Outside, the orangery garden and, near the swimming pool on the east side, a large lawn area to enjoy the quieter side of the property.
The 5th bedroom is located in an independent part near the swimming pool.
Please note that the Mas is located about 100 meters from the road leading to l'Isle sur la Sorgue bringing a non troublesome murmur.

A good time but some disappointments

Overall we had a fairly good time in the property, but some misleading things in the listings should be corrected. The house is very big, and the fact that the owner lives there between rentals means it is very well equipped, and not with the usual cheap Ikea things (beware with small children it also means there are a lot of valuable things at risk of being broken, maybe it would be best to protect some things elsewhere during high season when rented every week) The swimming pool area is very enjoyable. We had very (very) windy days, but the wall meant we could still use it most days. The location is good to visit Luberon (Cavaillon nearby is not really nice, but a lot of villages a bit further are: Lacoste, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, Oppede, Apt...) On the down side as previous reviews said, the noise of the road is present, you sort of get used to it, but it is constant day and night. I guess the owner can't do much about it. 2 misleadings things in the description are however in owner's control: - there are not 5 bedrooms, there are only 4 (the 5th "bedroom" is a pool house fitted with a bay window that drives the temperature up to 40+ degrees when sunny, and requires to walk outside to use toilet facilities in the house in the middle of the night. (It would need air con and toilet to classify as a bedroom). It meant we had to have a child with us in our adult bedroom: not what you want on holidays when you pay the price for a 5 beds house. - the listing says the pool is heated but it is still not. This is misleading and I wonder why after highlighted in previous reviews is has been changed.

We had a great stay. The property is extensive and well fitted out with great facilities throughout (the ice maker was a real bonus!). Thierry was very attentive without being intrusive and responded really quickly to our request for fans in the bedrooms. The pool area was spacious but it was easy to find shade from the midday sun. The large grounds allowed us to play plenty of games. The pool itself is very large albeit unheated; this did not affect our enjoyment of it. Trips to the local towns Cavaillon (more of a working town (but excellent supermarket) and L'Isle sur la Sorgue (prettier) were short car trips and 20 mins on the bike. Fontaine de Vacluse is a nice 30 min cycle and very pretty - easy canoeing (suitable for novices and families) was also close. The property is on a reasonably busy road but the traffic noise was hardly noticeable. All in all we had an excellent time and would go back again. In many respects, the website photos don't really do the property justice - it is better in the flesh!

Beautiful Provençale House full of Rustic Charm and ample accommodation.

Our host Thierry was most hospitable. He has created a very beautiful home with excellent modern amenities yet charmingly furnished with many interesting artefacts. This is a great base for exploring the Luberon and the beautiful towns of Gordes and Rousillon. The children loved the house and garden and enjoyed the boules and table tennis. We were disappointed to discover that the outdoor pool was not heated which would not have been an issue if the weather had been fine all week. However the website HomeAway listed the property as having a heated pool which was misleading. Having said that we did get used to the temperature and made the most of it. Merci encore!

un endroit charmant, les photos sont identique au résultat, la fraicheur de la piscine est adapté pour l'environnement, chambres pas trop bien disposé pour les ados, le bruit de la route n'est pas trop dérangeant. Petit bémol, le propriétaire sympa mais intrusif! venir 3 fois sans prévenir c'est limite gênant et dérangeant

Belle maison spacieuse et confortable

Maison soignée et très bien aménagée. Le bar, la piscine et les différents lieux de vie font de cette maison un bel endroit pour se reposer et passer de bons moments en famille ou entre amis. Aux heures de pointes, ont entend un peu la circulation sur la route nationale à proximité mais le premier verre de rosé nous fera vite oublier cet inconvénient. Nous avons passé de belles vacances et nous ne pouvons que recommander cet endroit.

Why they chose this property

I have been separated for several years and I usually engage in intense (agricultural) activities in the summer season, so it’s quite normal that I opted for seasonal rentals in order to make people benefit from the comfort of this old farmhouse and give me the opportunity to better maintain it……

The space and character of the premises are the two main criteria of this old farmhouse ... large pool area, large indoor spaces... 3 hectares field around the house….
