Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Sassetot-le-Malgardé - La Grange (The barn)

Renovated house with character, tastefully furnished, very calm location

The house is located in a small Norman village with 80 inhabitants, 15 km from Veules-les-Roses (some call it the prettiest village of Normandy!) and the large sandy beach (during low tide) in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer.

The house is located in a charming property of 3 hectares, dating back to the 18th century. Here you find absolute calmness and tranquillity. There is a private, enclosed garden of about 500 sq.m and parking.

The house is tastefully decorated. It consists of 3 bedrooms: two on the ground floor (1 bed of 90 x 200 cm and 1 bed of 140 x 200 cm) and another one upstairs (1 bed of 160 x 200 cm).

On the ground floor there is a bathroom, upstairs you'll find a shower room.

The house also enjoys an open plan kitchen, fully equipped and open to the dining and living room with a fireplace.

It is possible to rent house and bathroom linen (Euro 10 per person).

The Pays-de-Caux region is an area with pretty Norman villages, stretching from the sea towards the banks of the Seine River.

For hiking lovers there are plenty of possibilities for walking in the varied landscapes (forests, the meanders of the Seine, sea shore).

The white chalk cliffs give the sea shore a rather wild appearance. Étretat is not far. Otherwise, Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, the large beach 15 minutes away from the house, offers lots of sand during low tide allowing children to run and play. Saint-Valery-en-Caux, also 15 minutes away, is a pretty marina.

For those interested in historic buildings, the abbeys on the banks of the Seine River are close. There are plenty of castles and château parks that are open for visitors.

We can help you, according to your tastes, to find activities that are interesting for you. Not to be missed: Flying over the Pays de Caux in a hot-air balloon!

In the Pays de Caux, you can eat well! We can provide you with the addresses of our favourite restaurants for all budgets.

To make a long story short: a perfect spot for those who want to spend their vacation in peace and quiet and outdoors, to relax and enjoy rather sporty activities (hiking, biking, nautical activities like kite surfing, sailing or diving) or to visit a region with a marvellous heritage!

Beautifully converted barn

  • 5 of 5

Easy to find village off the main coast road to Veules les Roses, which is some 20 minutes away by car. The Barn is set in a very peaceful village and completely enclosed garden off the Main Street which is positioned in the middle of the village. The owner had the Barn well prepared for our visit ( very clean, fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher and large tv and satellite) and was very attentive during our stay. Apart from the beautiful coast line, we had enjoyable days at Cany-Barville where there is a lake for bathing and water skiing , Mini Golf and toboggan rides (luge), and swimming in a in/outdoor pool at Val de Saane some 20 minutes by car . The Barn has 4 bicycles available which enable pleasant cycle rides around the village. A very peaceful and relaxing holiday. Will recommend to family and friend and will definitely stay again

Country cottage chic at its best!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved it. In the countryside only 30 mins away from all of Normandy's delights. Secluded, private, safe and just lovely. High quality furnishings with everything you could possibly need for a fantastic holiday. Log fire was wonderful in the evenings. Garden was a superb size with rabbits and the occasional hen popping in! I would highly recommend this larger style cottage and I will definitely go back. Thanks to Corrine the owner for a nice welcome.

Lovely gite in beautifull setting,

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 8 days with wife, daughter and 4 month old grandson. We were made very welcome by the housekeeper and shown around the house. The house is terrifically designed for holiday living and has all that you need;it's warm, cosy and immaculate and well equipped. The gardens, which are part of the manor house's larger estate, were beautiful. We met the owner,Corrine, later in the week as she and her husband were there for the W/E.The only thing I had to complain about was the weather;sadly she couldn't help. The area has some of the prettiest villages and hamlets i have seen anywhere in France and is within easy distance of the coast,Honfleur and Rouen. We found a few nice places to eat within a 10 mile drive for both lunch and dinner. My only gripe was the fact I couldn,t work the TV out;too old I'm afraid.

All in all, a lovely holiday.

Holiday gite Sassetot Le Malgarde

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on a dull and rather cool day to a lovely welcome from the housekeeper who has put the heating on for us. The gite was lovely and clean and was very well equipped. It was extremely comfortable and in an ideal position to visit the coast. Around Dieppe. The garden was very private and beautifully kept. All in all an excellent gite of a very high standard.

A home away

  • 5 of 5

The house is very cosy with a tastefully selected interior, we felt like at home right from the first moment. There's a nice private garden, only for this house. We can highly recommend this place. The owner and the housekeeper were very helpful and friendly. The small village is a good starting point for visiting the area between the coastline and Rouen.
