About Chris and Donna

Originally from the east coast, we fell in love with the Sonoma Valley while visiting several years ago. The breathtaking scenery, the award-winning wines, the friendly and kind people in the area prompted us to buy Dolcevita..."The Sweet Life".

Chris, a retired educator, is also a wedding officiant in California and a Tourism Ambassador in Sonoma County!

Lovely home in Glen Ellen

  • 5 of 5

This villa was exactly as represented in the photos and description, obviously well-taken care of and finely accommodated. I needed a place near Sonoma for my nephew and his wife (visiting from upstate NY) and me (San Mateo County), and this fit the bill perfectly. After wine tasting during the day, we spent both evenings out on the deck chatting and enjoying the fire pit. The home itself was lovely, beds comfortable, and bathrooms extremely nice. The owners were very accessible and replied quickly to the few queries I had beforehand. The other comments about the parking are spot-on. I drive a GTI and had no issues but can see how a larger vehicle would be problematic. It is worth the trip (and the use of a smaller vehicle).

Well appointed is an understatement!

Fantastic getaway villa! The bed is heavenly! Can't say enough about how much of a surprise on how well this home is decorated and designed. I'm super jealous of the owners. They communicate very well and kept the villa in supereme condition!

Great find!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dolcevita and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a 2 bedroom spot in the Sonoma Valley! Owners are very responsive and accommodating. And the house is perfect. Two levels, each with a full bath, that allow for privacy and a nice size common area with a deck just off the main living. Glen Ellen is a cool small town and there are some great restaurants and wineries within a few minutes. As well, Sonoma is only about 15 minutes away. There are some nice parks with hiking trails nearby and plenty of great drives with incredible scenery.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely home was the perfect spot for a wine country getaway! Beautifully and carefully appointed, everything looked just right. The owners obviously have taken such care in furnishing this home and supplying it with everything we needed for a truly comfortable stay.

It's location to outstanding wineries and excellent restaurants was perfect, as well as the close proximity to the natural beauty of the area were just what we were hoping for.

The layout is perfect for 2 couples wanting ultimate privacy but also the chance to spend quality time together. We enjoyed this home so much and would highly recommend it!

Great space and location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this property with another couple while visiting the wineries in Sonoma. It was in a great location close to restaurants and markets in town, and was a great space for us. The house is very cute and has everything you would need for a stay. Chris was extremely helpful with getting us the information necessary to check in and out of the house.

Lovely home

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Very cozy and comfortable.

Two comments:

We did not have access to the washer/dryer. One of the main reasons we rent a home is to have all the conveniences of home and that includes a washer/dryer. We ended up finding a laundromat about 20 minutes away. So not convenient. This is the first time we've run into this issue and have rented 20+ homes all over the US. Also, please provide more than one wash cloth per guest if people are staying more than one night. Don't mind reusing a towel, but would appreciate a clean washcloth each day.

The parking was very difficult with a full size SUV. Especially backing out! Scary!
