Villa Theodora is a spacious and comfortable home in the heart of Blois. It overlooks the Loire River, the Chateau de Blois and the historic downtown area. It is centrally located within a 10-15 minute walk of restaurants and a small grocery store and a short 5 minute drive to the train station. The main floor features a large lounge/living room with flat screen TV and WiFi router, a formal dining room which can comfortably seat 10 people, a small kitchen and a 3/4 bathroom. On the second level there is a large bedroom with en-suite bathroom, two additional bedrooms and another full bathroom. The third level features three more small bedrooms and a 3/4 bathroom. On the basement level there is a washing machine (but no dryer). For those who love to cook, please be aware that the kitchen had very limited utensils. There were no serving spoons or slotted spoons. The knives were extremely dull as was the vegetable peeler. We had to go out and purchase another one. With the exception of the kitchen, all other rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The owner and her son were extremely gracious and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we would highly recommend this villa. The Milligan family, Lexington, SC
Villa Theodora was the perfect venue for our group of nine friends. The house is beautiful, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. It is an easy 15 minute walk to town. Best of all was the owner Marguerite! She made us feel welcome from the very first email. This was our first visit to France and Marguerite helped us sort out the train schedules, taxis, and even met us at the train station on arrival. The kitchen is well equipped with pans and serving ware. All six bedrooms are comfortable, and the four bathrooms are spacious and bright, with plenty of hot water and towels. This is a lovely home in a great location! Although it was not a problem for us, it is worth noting that the house is on three levels with long narrow stairways (due to high ceilings) and the washing machine is in the cellar. If we have the opportunity to return to the Loire Valley we would definitely book Villa Theordora again!
Nine of us stayed in the lovely, large Villa just across the river, in walking distance, from Blois. Our hostess was gracious and so helpful getting us checked in. We all commented on how comfortable the beds were as well as how clean the property. The children had a great time playing soccer in the large back yard and we enjoyed the more than adequate lighting for reading etc. Everything we needed was supplied except the food. From the Villa we walked into Blois to the churches, Mystery Museum and general shopping. Very easy to get around. And it's central, making our trips to Cheverney, Chambord and Ambois easy to manage. I highly recommend this property. The only drawback is if you have too many cars. Parking, while not difficult, there's a garage there, is along the street.
