Great location and lots of treats.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Austinmer Gardens. It was very clean and comfortable. We had lunch on the little deck off the bedroom looking toward the beautiful escarpment. It is a nice walk through the park at the back to stroll along the beach.Rosemary provided lots of treats to eat and drink including a homemade loaf of bread. Thanks again, Janell Blue Mts
Lovely spot and great unit.
Rosemary was a fantastic host and the homemade bread and food was wonderful.
Unfortunately, the bed was too firm for our bad backs and hips but sadly that's often the case these days.
Many thanks, Marjory, for your kind words, but sorry the mattress wasn’t right for you ... it was a brand new one ... maybe the mattress in the other room would be better for you next time.
Lovely seaside retreat from the bustle of Sydney
We can only reiterate the views of other visitors. Austinmer Gardens is spotless, extraordinarily quiet (except of course for the very active morning birdlife), and only five minutes to the beach and Headlands Hotel. It was a perfect getaway from our unit in noisy inter-city Sydney. Rosemary and Ian were kind enough to pick us up and deliver us to Thirroul Station, and the breakfast fixings were fit for and King and Queen: bacon, eggs, homemade bread, yogurt, and cereals.
warm and friendly
great location, owners are fantastic nothing is any trouble they even gave us a lift to a nearby hotel so we did not have to wait for a taxi. Warm fresh bread on arrival was a lovely touch, will definitely return
Great place to stay. Very well taken care of during our time here.
Location was great. Nice beaches , parks and eateries.
Clean, comfy and Close to beach
Pros: 5 minute walk to Headlands hotel and beach, easy off-street parking on a quiet road, own entrance around the back to a very clean, 2 bedroom apartment. This is an upstairs apartment, so the stairs were a bit of a worry for us as we have a toddler, but there is a detachable gate at the top of the stairs provided to close it off. Lovely view of the escarpment from the lounge, balcony from the bedroom looking over the back yard and a park. The chicken pen was a point of excitement for my toddler and Rosemary (our host) was more than happy to let him feed them. Rosemary is a lovely, easy going host whose made a comfy beach getaway. She even provides freshly milled & baked bread for breakfast (it's delicious). We even had a great chat about her bread and gave me some useful tips on bread making! We would definitely stay again!
Cons: That our stay wasn't longer! The only other thing I would mention is the floor was a little noisy under foot which proved difficult treading at night if you have a child that wakes easily to noise (like ours) but really there was nothing major that would take away from such a lovely experience.
