its my dream home built inspired from ancient southern indian architecture, not far from the beach and close to the famous auroville bakery! a homestay with a common kitchen, 4 rooms in all, a perfect place to relax, unwind or work!
The Space:
the home, a solar powered one! has a courtyard with a beautiful cashewnut tree at the centre, the rooms are around it. so every room has its own private space and opens into the central courtyard. there is also a traditional coconut leaf tatched common room on the terrace, perfect for a relaxed evening with superb sea breeze. The rooms are airy and big and every room has its personality. the kitchen is equipped with all the requirements to have a great meal, and the kitchen garden outside where we grow fresh organic vegetables and fruits only makes it better!
At one time 8 persons can be accommodated ideally in 4 rooms, an extra bed is also possible for an extra person and there is ample space for car parking.
Guest Access:
well, you will be treated as one of the family! that is assured! the maid comes in the mornings to do all the cleaning up and help in cooking, we got wifi, and a fantastic green cover around if you prefer lazing on the branches instead! one request i prefer to bring your own towels, we will have some anyway if you forget!
Interaction with Guests:
i live in the same home and i love people in general so that is sorted, i am a real traveller myself so i know how it is to land up in a homestay and really feel like home! and that i make sure! will help you surely for understanding the place better and connecting you with things and things to do around. you may also help if you like with various activities in the house, like gardening, cooking etc.
The Neighborhood:
i live in a neighbourhood with a huge density of creative minds who like to live a good life, eat healthy, stay healthy and enjoy themselves. Auroville is very closeby and is a hub for a great multicultural experience. fantastic food, music, and so many workshops and activities to suit you!
Getting Around:
best way to move around is to hire a two wheeler, very inexpensive and the best way to experience Pondy, also there is an excellent taxi service that comes home for a pick up/drop if needed.
