I was e-mailed instructions on how to access the apartment. This involved numeric codes on the outside and apartment door. There was another inner door and keys for this door were available in a strong box next to this door. The strong box had a numeric code and there were multiple copies of the inner door key in it. Although the owner claims the place is secure, I did not feel secure because the codes were easy to remember and the strong box had multiple copies of the inner door key. The apartment is well laid out but it faces an inner space; there is no view. The rolling shutter in the bedroom window did not work and there was only a sheer curtain. Also there was only a sheer on the window across from the bathroom door. The windows face other windows and so there was no sense of privacy. The freezer in the mini fridge had defrosted so when I opened the fridge, water went everywhere. There were NO kitchen supplies for cooking, not even coffee filters; plus there was an odd assortment of pots, pans, and utensils. Finally, there was a good amount on mold in the bathroom above the toilet, which indicated to me the toilet above had overflowed. I arrived at night and was gone the next day. I had booked the place for the week but stayed only a night. I was e-mailed that I got a 50% refund.
This property is great. I have been there basically to go and pass some exams at the university and the location of this flat is ideal. Only 2minutes walk from the closest metro station and the train stations. It was very calm at night and helped me a lot to revise and have some rest.
The kitchen is well equipped and enabled me to cook as it I was at home. That's always a deal to find all the stuff on a rental flat but here there everything basical and more. I warmly recommend it. It is very clean too.
In early November, this was by some length the best value accommodation we could find in the centre of Lille. It has a good seating area and kitchen, slightly cramped bathroom and bedroom. There could do to be more information about operating the equipment, we spent some time figuring out how to operate the hob. We were slightly bothered by noisy partygoers elsewhere in the building on two out of the three nights we were there, to be fair one of them was unbeknownst to us on the eve of a midweek public holiday.
Central, close to Lille Europe and Lille Flanders train stations, this apartment met our needs adequately. The apartment depicted in the photos is one of many, not the one we were allocated. Clean but bedroom and kitchen cramped and stuffy unless windows opened. This increased street noise and allowed entry of Mosquitos. Kitchen appliances were sufficient for our needs, although dishwasher did not work. Mattress was very firm and pillows thin. No safe parking nearby if you are driving. Alain was friendly and welcoming and lives on site.
The apartment is exactly as described, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It is centrally located in Lille old town, within walking distance of all the main sights - 5 minutes' walk to the Grande Place or Lille Flandres station, just 10 minutes from the Eurostar station. The owner, Alain, was friendly and helpful.

Ideally located in the heart of Lille, 200m from the railway station, 7km from the airport and 1km from the highway, the apartment is easily accessible. You will be close to all the shops, bars, restaurants and cinemas as well as the many activities offered in the area: theater, swimming, bowling, mountain bike or museums.
