Perfect Loft in Sydney - central location - "Hosts With The Most"
This beautiful loft studio in Annandale was THE PERFECT location for our 2-night stay in Sydney and the warmest of welcomes guaranteed that we were treated like family and made feel at home as soon as we entered.
Situated at the rear of the residential property in a pretty, quiet little lane-way (to which taxis and Uber drivers are happy to provide door service) the loft is located away from main roads so is quiet and private.
The owners Bet and Keith take such pride in the presentation of their beautiful property that nothing is left to chance -breakfast requirements are determined upon making your booking and all other information is forwarded in detail to negate any confusion on arrival.
As previous accommodation owners ourselves, we are very particular when travelling and couldn't help but note that the attention to detail with maps and local information is impeccable, likewise the detail with which all amenities are provided and catered....all needs are provided for and offered with 5-star cleanliness.
Thanks to Bet and Keith for the hassle-free booking and travel advice and for their impeccable hospitality - we will return when next staying in Sydney.
PS - if other testimonials regarding the staircase are making you think twice.....think not !! - it's quaint and funky and gave us something to laugh about every time we upped and down - the loft/studio wouldn't be the gorgeous quaint space that it is without it !!
K & G - Torquay Vic
What a wonderful review. Thank you so much Kerri and Georgia. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, brief as it was. You were such obliging and friendly guests. It's feedback like this that makes all the work worthwhile. We would love to welcome you back.
A serene, comfortable, clean and beautiful retreat in the heart of fabulous Sydney
I highly recommend this beautiful, peaceful and comfortable studio. Bet & Keith are lovely, they are friendly and helpful but respect privacy. There is everything that you would need there. I had the most restful sleeps even though I was visiting under sad circumstances. I will return. Gratitude.
Thank you for the lovely review, Bev. It was a pleasure to meet you and we are particularly pleased to read that you had a comfortable and relaxing time. Also, thank you for keeping the Studio so clean during your stay. Yes, we too would love to welcome you back for a return visit.
Sydney in the sun
We enjoyed the stay but were concerned with the steep stairs and the downstairs bathroom.
Also security of the downstairs entry to the garage was not lockable from the inside.
Thank you for the review, Dean. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about the 105-year-old stairs. They made them steep and narrow in those days. Apropos the sliding door: it provides us access to the studio from the garage. We lock it (from inside the garage) for the duration of the guests' stay. We routinely and specifically inform guests on their arrival that we keep the sliding door locked in order to respect their privacy. The sliding door is opened only once a day - when the guests are not there - so that we can clean the Studio and replenish the breakfast provisions. We can't have a situation whereby guests are able to lock the sliding door from within the studio. This would deny us entry to our own Studio and we would be unable to fulfil our daily cleaning duties. Hope you understand.
B & B at its best
This B&B ticked all the boxes for us - they even supplied his and hers dressing gowns!!!!!
The host had copied all sort of information that one might need to make their stay an enjoyable one . I was very impressed by this kindness and the host even drove us to the station one day - what more can i say except the place was 5 out of 5
Karin and Andrew were welcome guests, hospitable, obliging and friendly. They were enthusiastic travellers, eager to discover the sights of Sydney and Annandale. They were particularly clean and left the studio neat and tidy throughout their seven-day stay.
Immaculate private retreat
Our very first stay in Annandale- close to all ammenities and transport. Keith and Bet provided
fresh breakfast items daily including special trips to the local bakery to get croissants. Our 10 day stay went very guickly in this separate house with its own street entrance- must be a very unique property in Sydney- highly recommended.
We recently stayed at Bet's B&B & found it to be exactly as it was advertised. The location was great for us as we were visiting family in Annandale. We were oblivious to the fact that we were in central Sydney. It was quiet & peaceful & very clean. Entering from a laneway made it very private & the little village shopping area was only steps away for paper & coffee. However coffee & plunger were provided as was a breakfast store that included bacon & eggs & bread for toasting. The large area provided a comfortable bed, kitchen, 2 lounges, & table & chairs. Every need was thought of & provided. We would stay again & found the hosts to be very hospitable and accessible though not at all intrusive as the b&b is a 2 storey stand alone at the rear of house.
BET'S B&B STUDIO 'FOR SHORT SYDNEY STAYS'.
It's a five-minute walk to the bus stop where the 470 bus takes you into Sydney's CBD. From there it's a short walk to all Sydney's renowned sights - the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Botanic Gardens, the historic Rocks area, the Maritime Museum and Zoo and the shopping and cafes precincts. At Circular Quay you can catch ferries to Manly, Darling Harbour, Cockatoo Island and Parramatta.
From Bet's B&B Studio it's also a 10-minute walk to the Lightrail on Rozelle Bay which passes Annandale's parklands, the Tramsheds (housing 12 restaurants), the world famous Fish Markets, the Maritime Museum and Darling Harbour before completing its journey at Central Railway Station.
Annandale is just 3.5km from Sydney's CBD. Nearby are the University of Sydney, the Broadway Shopping Centre, Chinatown and Sydney's three most popular eating precincts - Newtown, Glebe and Leichhardt.
The 370 bus (five-minutes from Bet's B&B) takes you to the surfing beach at Coogee. It's a one-hour ride, which passes by Sydney University, Randwick Race Course and the University of NSW. It's a great picnic location and from there you can take the coastal walk all the way to Bondi Beach.
RESTAURANTS AND CAFES.
Annandale is a great place to eat - for choice, diversity and convenience. There are two distinct precincts.
ANNANDALE'S HEARTLAND: More than 20 cafes and restaurants line Johnston and Booth streets. There's the internationally inspired culinary menus of our Aussie cafes, renowned for their coffees; the pizza, chicken and seafood takeaways; the Asian, Greek, Italian, European restaurants; patisseries and bakeries; and of course the traditional pub food.
TRAM SHEDS DINING PRECINCT: Contained in the historic and cavernous tramsheds are 12 restaurants of diverse cuisines - Middle Eastern, Japanese, Latin American, Italian, Vietnamese and specialists in seafood, chicken, pizza, pasta and organic dishes.
Both the Tramsheds and Annandale's food precincts are less than 10 minutes walk from Bet's B&B Studio.
