Great location with the grampians right behind you

The cosy fire and large spa bath were definitely the highlights

Owner's Response: Another great review that shows the Halls Gap Hideaway has a lot to offer - open the back door and there it is, the Grampians National Park. We aim to provide quality accommodation at an affordable price - we look forward to hearing from you soon

Great location and beautiful view! Could do with a bit of update, new white quilt covers and perhaps some less used furniture, that aside we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: We have recently replaced a few old chairs and are looking at internal painting etc. The hideaway is a popular spot so we need to find time between guests to get the job done.

Fantastic, cute and cosy.

From the birds, to the fire place to the spa to the fun that was had. Loved it and would definitely book again. It was clean, comfortable and well located. Close to great bush walks and cafes. Super relaxed, only wish we had booked more nights there.

We had a lovely stay here, it was clean and comfortable, with beautiful views of the mountains and trees. The spa was great.

Quite disappointing

  • 2 of 5

I'm sorry to be giving a bad review, but I find the reviews here very misleading and id like to be honest.

Stayed for three nights in the hideaway. Beds very very hard, made for an exhausting birthday getaway. Fire efficient but the rule about not burning too much wood is a pain. Very, very dark. Couldn't read inside. Rules about electricity also painful! Not clean, dishes dirty in drawers and cupboards, spiderwebs.

We stayed there as we were keen to build an RAL home, but after seeing the home in a state of disrepair, we are no longer interested. (Rotting wood, leaking roof, drafts)

Owner's Response: We are sorry to hear we could not meet the expectations of Ellie & Co. It goes to show that as long as we have different people stay we will never get a 100% approval rate from all guests. The great thing about the Stays review system is that we cannot influence what guests say. And potential guests can read as many reviews as they want to get a balanced view and make the decision to stay at the Hideaway or stay elsewhere. The same beds is January 2015 were rated as "very comfortable". There is a reading lamp that can be used for reading. The information provided about electricity is not so much a rule but advises guests what to expect if the electricity does go off (a common occurrence in Halls Gap). I assume the "rotting wood" comment is referring to the steps. I purchased steps in January 2017 and have only just installed them last weekend as this was the first weekend we have had available since January to get the job done. regards Ali Rowe
