About this property

ABC acres' Guest House - Agritourism & Adventure in Montana's Bitterroot Valley!

ABC acres is a permaculture farm in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. Sustainable food production, healthy living systems, and ecological design is what we are all about. Our chickens, goats, and newly buzzing honeybee populations are out on open pasture, eating, resting, pollinating, and living the way nature intended.

Much like our livestock family, our vegetables, herbs, fruits and nuts are grown with the same approach. It’s a mixture of annuals and perennials intertwined with pollinator species, companion plantings, and multi-structured food forests…. nature’s way… a way of ensuring diversity, reducing disease, and increasing harvest for an overall healthy farm.

The Guest House was built in 2014. Offering four dedicated bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, comfortable living/dining space, and well-equipped kitchen, the Guest House interior sits at about 1800 sqft. The structure was built with no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) both inside and out, and non-toxic spray foam insulation, which speaks to the underlying theme of healthy environments which pervade throughout the farmstead. The Guest House offers both forced heat and air conditioning for your comfort, complete with HEPA filtration for high quality interior air all season long. To insure a clean, healthy drinking/bathing experience, all water is routed through an iron filtration system then finally through an ‘Alive Water’ system to reinvigorate & re-energize the water at all points of use. On the exterior, a covered deck along with outdoor dining set and lounge furniture for your relaxation and viewing pleasure. Seasonal strawberry patches situated off the North side, as well as a selection of culinary herbs for use in the kitchen, are all yours to enjoy.

The Guest House is situated in the ‘heart of the farm’. Positioned alongside the current implement shed (home to machinery and equipment), the seasonal irrigation waterway (April to October) and in close proximity to the goat barn and livestock paddocks, the Guest House is witness to the daily activities of the farm. As a guest of the farm, and from the comfort of the west facing porch, you may witness farm staff running pasture irrigation, osprey fishing for trout in the waterway, goats bleating in the near distance, elk & deer grazing the pastures at dusk, and so much more. It is these on-farm experiences that give staying at the Guest House its charm.

Conveniently located just a few miles South of Hamilton, a short walk to the Bitterroot River, and bordered by picturesque farms and public lands, ABC acres provides an idyllic combination of wide-open spaces, wildlife, and outdoor adventure, while also remaining just minutes from the Valley’s small-town happenings.

Don’t hesitate to contact our Farm Stay Manager with any questions you might have, where/what you can explore, and how to best enjoy the abundance of on- and off-farm activities available. Beyond a place to simply rest your head, ABC acres is here to enhance your visit and help create memories for a lifetime.

Alot of empty promises
If your looking at planning an event here. Get everything in writing and make sure they sign it. We had alot of empty promises for our wedding day. There was no warm welcome (James) was very rude and refused communication with us to help make our WEDDING DAY special. We had been in communication for months. James was more worried about more money rather than making our ceremony spot special. He had over 5 months to prepare the area and went out day before WEDDING TO CUT AND TRY TO WATER. Plus he had rented out parking lot plus a building so we couldn't setup ceremony day before and he had promised us months before. Like i titled it alot of empty promises.

Best Place to Stay in Hamilton, Mt
Really well appointed home, beautiful scenery, lovely people on the entire Farm. Very well equipped kitchen. Comfortable and Clean. Easy communication with owner. Overall just an awesome time and our family will hopefully not have to stay anywhere else when we come back to visit Hamilton. And we have stayed at a lot of other places… trust me just book this one.

Great stay for family/group
Three adult couples plus my two adult sons comfortably stayed at this property. The house was organized and well arranged, so all we needed to do was settle in and enjoy. We even enjoyed fresh produce and eggs from the farm! In addition to the lovely home, was the beautiful setting! It was truly picture perfect. The outdoor seating with backdrop of meadow and mountains was stunning. We enjoyed many meals on the back porch in order to more fully enjoy this amazing view. The property host, James, was most welcoming and helpful. We would definitely enjoy another stay here when we return to this area!
