Great Location in the Sorbonne District

  • 5 of 5

We spent one week in Francette's flat. The location is perfect, near the Sorbonne, Latin Quarter, Metro, Buses, a Grocery Store across the street, and plenty of Restaurants nearby. Having an elevator to the third floor is a nice luxury. Each day we became more comfortable in this spacious, and very French style apartment. It made us feel like we were getting a true feeling for Paris versus staying in a hotel. Francette was very helpful in providing suggestions for visiting Paris. We really did not want to leave, as this flat started to feel like home.

Comfortable, perfectly located.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was a bit quirky by US standards, but was very roomy and comfortable. First, the quirky. Advertised as having 2 bathrooms, the apartment had a single WC. There was another small bathing area with a small shower which we didn't use because it's door was broken and we were concerned that we'd flood the the room. It needs to be repaired. The second bath area was en suite and had a good shower.

The Wifi was not working when we arrived. At the end of the second day Francette (the owner) cobbled together a balky solution. On the third day she arranged for us to use a neighbor's Wifi. It was a good solution. Ultimately, she was able to buy and install a new cable.

Francette is very engaged with helping her guests. She has an excellent command of English and knows her neighborhood. She is very generous, giving us with a bottle of very good Champagne for a Christmas treat.

I am a chef, but did not cook any masala at the flat. I did inspect the kitchen battery and it is well equipped.

I feel the apartment is good value for the money. I would not hesitate to use it again.

Great home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights. Our kids are ages 12, 9, and 5. The flat was lovely - extremely comfortable and quiet at night (we weren't home during the day). We felt very safe in this area as we walked to and from the flat early in the morning and late at night.

Francette, the owner, was amazingly helpful, even though she was out of town while we were there. She set up taxis for us, gave us advice on restaurants, and was very easy to get ahold of.

It was an easy walk to Notre Dame and Ste. Chapelle... We even walked to the Orsay Museum with a stop for breakfast mid-route. It has easy access to metro and buses as well.

This flat made it feel like we were coming back to a home each night! I highly recommend it! We would definitely stay here again! Merci beaucoup Francette!

Fab apartment in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a long weekend in this lovely apartment - Francette is a lovely and helpful host and the apartment perfect for a short stay in Paris.

We were a family group of five adults, so used the sofa bed in addition to the bedrooms - Sofabed is extremely comfortable and easy to get out and put away each day. Having two showers for a group this size was also an added bonus.

It can be a touch noisy in the mornings, but this was a trade off I was more than happy with for the convenience of the location which is perfect - just a five minute stroll to the river and Notre Dame with buses on the door to most locations you could want in Paris.

Extremely well equipped kitchen, and a host of bars/restaurants on the door too, would recommend.

Wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just returned home from a week in Paris with our 5 children (ages 9, 9, 4, 2 & 1) and we had a fantastic trip! Francette is such a friendly, helpful and thoughtful person. The apartment's location was perfect for us and was nicely situated to catch a few different bus routes right out the front door. The buses worked well with having two strollers instead of up/down to the metro. While staying at other rentals over the years, we have had to buy a few items for the kitchen but not this time, everything we needed and more was available. We would recommend this apartment and hope to return!

Nice place to stay for adults but would avoid with toddlers

  • 4 of 5

Overall we were satisfied with our stay. The flat is well-located near Notre Dame cathedral. We were visiting Paris and I was accompanied by my wife, 18 month old and another couple.

Positives of this flat were location and the owner/operator. Francette is eager to help and offer advice on where to go and how to avoid doing any damage to the flat. She does collect a security deposit upon arrival and return it at the end of the stay. This building does have an elevator (as the unit is on the third floor).

I'd like to stress that we would stay in this flat again, but there are a few items that one should be aware of before renting the flat. On week day mornings, it is extremely noisy in this part of town (important if you have a sleeping 18 month old). The age of the building requires that you be okay with loud creaking floors and cramped bathrooms.

Overall, we would stay there again without a child but not with a child that still requires naps.
