We enjoyed our stay in Cladh-a-Mhuillin lodge. The location is good not too far from some lovely scenic places to visit such as Kilbride Bay, Loch Fyne and the Kyle of Bute. You will need a car to go most places. It is an hours walk to the beach, and 40 minutes over the hill to Kames. There are some good eating places nearby (by car) and a good small shop in Kames. The lodge is small and the living room a bit cramped. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. It was cold when we stayed and we needed to use the electric heaters provided to keep warm. The house was very nicely decorated with traditional paintings and furniture and there are a good selection of books. The freesat TV is a nice bonus.
If you are planning to arrive via the Western Ferries car ferry then discounted ferry tickets are available by pre-purchasing from Paul's Food and Wine in Gourock, the address is 94 Shore Road Gourock PA19 1RB. Travel on A8003 until you come to Shore road with The Royal An Lochan Hotel on your right and the sea in front - turn right and follow signs for Kames then Millhouse. The cottage is the first building on the left travelling down the hill. There is a bell and cannon monument adjacent to the cottage.
