Absolut tolle Unterkunft

  • 4 of 5

A quaint, private, spacious house with a sunny garden & local amenities within walking distance

  • 5 of 5

Nervous having not booked a private rental with an owner I did not know before, I was extremely surprised and very happy with this beautiful little house in the middle of a developing village following a long but pleasant drive from the UK.

With all local amenities to include a spar shop, Boulogne and restaurants, it was only 15 min drive to the local supermarket.

Within the house, spacious, clean and comfortable bedrooms and living area. A private, sunny morning garden, well equipped kitchen and for my teenage children English channels on the TV and Wi-Fi !

With nearly 6 adults in the house it did not feel cramped at all and the clean, pool was only a 1 minute walk round the corner. Due to the rules it was only lacking some sun beds but this did not stop us having time round the pool and dipping in to cool down!

Beaches were various travelling times away from the property, and so its good to have a car. Our favourite Pardigon was only 30 minutes away when you know the way!. Many beautiful places to visit including St Tropez by boat from Port Grimold our favourite little trip. Cavalier is great for many restaurants and within a small walk and easy access from our beach visits, its a winner.

Owner made contact while we were there, which was very nice touch and the key holders who just live round the corner from the property were there with help very quickly when the shower stopped working! Both owner and key holder, very friendly, polite, helpful and English and French speaking making things easier for us with little French.

Our stay was for a fun, relaxing family holiday with grandparents joining us for the trip. The sun shined, the beach was lovely, pool cold enough to cool down and the house extremely comfortable with the fridge full of food!. What more could you want than all these to be great and your family to be with you. Happy days, happy holiday!

Good times in the Golfe de St Tropez

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Donnachadh and Ethna's house in La Mole for an extended period between late summer 2017 and spring 2018, and loved every minute.

The whole region is of course chockablock during the summer months, but it can be perfect out of season. No traffic, decent enough weather so that you can eat on the terasse until November and again from late February, and although some of the tourist facilities are closed, there is still much of the best of the region (walks, biking, even beaches if the water is a little chilly!) to enjoy.

The house is just great. For kids (especially little ones), it's perfect. Swimming pool, quiet roads on which they can play, very pleasant atmosphere in the village, which has all of the access to St Tropez and none of the pretension. In the village, there are activities for kids (bike track, skate park, small football pitch), and plenty to satisfy the adults - a good boulangerie, a small shop, a few vineyards, and a couple of decent - and one outstanding - restaurant. The house is fully equipped and has everything you need for a great stay.

Donnachadh and Ethna were amazing hosts - so welcoming, and so accommodating. Highly recommended

Beautiful home in an wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this property. The house is decorated beautifully. The open plan living area is spacious and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The garden is lovely, We enjoyed eating our breakfast on the terrace. The communal pool was a wonderful facility to have and was fantastic for all ages. The location is perfect in the small ,picturesque village of la mole. La mole is situated only 15 minutes from st tropez, and is also near many beautiful towns such as grimaud, gassin and St. Maxime. A perfect location! The property was also near many beaches such as l'estagnol, boukarou beach and la plage de gigaro. The owners of this house were reliable and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back next year

This family holiday home is a new 3 bedroom 2-storey Provençal town-house located in the heart of the tranquil village of La Mole with private garden and immediately adjacent to the swimming pool. This is an ideal setting for anyone who loves the tranquil countryside of the Var region but wants to be within easy reach of the sea and coastal resorts.

This property in Les Clos des Vignes, La Mole is a new development located on the site of an old vineyard just behind the church, in the centre of the village. The house is built in the Provençal style incorporating many of the typical features of the region. The landscaped gardens include a pool, and the views of the surrounding countryside are stunning.

La Mole is in the heart of the Maures mountains and is very close to the sea and only 15 minutes from St Tropez. Surrounded by rolling mountains and gorgeous pine forests, La Mole is located on the “Route des Vins”. It has been a popular location over the years because of the wonderful surroundings and the proximity of the famous coastal resorts such as St Tropez, St. Maxime, Nice and Cannes.

Within a 15 minutes drive there are some of the best beaches on the coast and the Beauvallon golf course is only 20 minutes away. There are plenty of family activities in the area, e.g. horse riding, cycling , walking, playground, tennis & basketball court, and a water park located 2 km outside the village nestles in the surrounding hills and pine forest.

In the village of La Mole there are 3 local restaurants including the renowned 'Auberg de La Mole', local shop, hairdresser, and boulangiere, children’s playground, tennis court, football pitch and post office. The nearest large supermarket is located in Cogolin (7km away)

The terrace is furnished with an external dining area seating 6 comfortably with a sun parasol and 2 sun loungers. The terrace leads onto a private lawn area surrounded by mature gardens, and adjacent to the swimming pool.

La Mole – the village

Lots of local information in the reception of the Mayor's office which in the the Place de la Mairie, in front of the fountain.

La Boulangiere – local village baker on main street open early every morning for fresh bread and baguettes.

Supermarket- Spar in Village and large supermarket in Cogolin

Local roads from La Mole (go past church on left side) are very quiet and great for walks/ cycling. The road by the playground is a very quiet and safe road with very little traffic. It is beautiful for quiet walks or cycling and is only about 4km long with vineyards all around. Beyond the village, at the traffic lights at “Moulin Rouge” turn right and the road will lead you up a mountain side to the lake / reservoir.

Places to Visit

There are lots of local information on activities, trips and lots of local maps available for guests in the house.

St Tropez –market in the main square every Saturday morning- worth going to see. Great shopping, harbour etc. about 10 -15 min drive from la Mole.

Gassin- old historic medieval hill-top town; great restaurants and spectacular views from the village.

Ramateulle- nice old town on the further along the same road as Gassin

Grimaud- about 15mins away. Hilltop historic town with plenty of restaurants

Bormes- le Mimmosa- beautiful town about 30mins away. Turn right out of village square and head in direction of Toulon along N98. Very well signposted. Take right hand turn at top of mountain and follow signs. Very picturesque drive over hills. Lots of shops, local arts etc, bars & Restaurants. Very nice for a ramble!

Cogolin – nearest large town, great market town and plenty of restaurants. The best place for supermarket shopping. Grand Frais and Le Clerc are the nearest large supermarket and you will see it on the main road (N98) as you drive past Cogolin along the by-pass.

Port Grimaud- purpose built marina with shops & restaurants. Can get a ferry from here to St Tropez.

We really enjoy visiting the local vineyards in the region and some of the local wines are excellent. The area mainly produces Rose, but there are also some really excellent reds and whites.

In particular the area around l’Estagnol beach and travelling along the coast road from Bormes to Le Lavandou is really stunning countryside. Visit Château Bregancon. Château Louebe and Château Ott. Also Château Minuty on the road to Ramatuelle has really excellent local wines as does St Maur, and Domaine Siouvette. There is also a restaurant in Château Minuty.

Restaurants in La Mole

“Auberge de La Mole” – very famous and excellent restaurant!

“Bistro ” - on the main street in La Mole Run by This is both ours and our children’s favourite restaurant and they are always welcoming of families and children! Very good homely food – we strongly recommend it!
