We had a great time in Paris and found the flat in a good location for visiting the sights. The local shops were excellent and we enjoyed a meal at the Lebanese restaurant Bistrot Beirut on our final night.



My wife and I had the mezzos for two, which we had to share with the whole table, as there was so much, with an additional plate of sweets 'on the house' being brought with our coffees. I would certainly recommend the restaurant as something a little bit different and enjoyable.

A taste of real Paris

Lovely, light, airy flat plenty of room for family of four, very easy to reach from Eurostar. Good facilities; dish washer, washing machine plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc just as described in the advert and good, easy to use central heating

A great deal of the attraction for us lies in the fact that, although in easy reach of all the tourist spots by bus or metro, the local area gives one a real flavour of living in Paris. There is a good butcher’s, a wine shop, cheese shop, several boulangeries and a couple of supermarkets within 10 minutes walk. We also enjoyed a walk to the huge Marche d’Aligre.

As well as the currently popular Bastille quarter, the up and coming districts such as Bellville and the canal St Martin area to the north are also easily reached from the flat and well worth exploring.

My family and I have stayed there 3 times, for a total of 5 weeks. I have always found the owners very efficient and easy to deal with . We all, kids included ,thoroughly recommend it and we shall definitely be going back again.

Modern, well-equipped, clean and convenient

We really enjoyed our week. Although we didn't spend much time in it, the apartment was just right for a family holiday with many convenient shops and cafes a couple of minutes walk. A ten minute flat walk took us to Nation metro/RER station which, whilst not the nearest to the apartment, had the advantage of being on the central line '1' which cuts through the city, stopping close to all the major attractions. It was also just half an hour to Disneyland on one of the frequent trains on RER line A.

Adrian was very helpful before the stay and sent an email upon arrival to check that everything was ok. Our only minor frustration was the levels of noise in the evenings. Sitting in the apartment with the windows open there was a huge amount of noise from neighbouring apartments which sometimes went on well past 10 or 11. Having said that, after walking around Paris all day and enjoying plenty of good food and good wine, nothing much was going to keep us awake!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback Sarah. We're glad you enjoyed the convenience of the apartment but sorry to hear about the noise. This surprises us as it is very rare to hear anything from the neighbours at all. The law in France and in particular in Paris, is very strict about noise between the hours of 2200 and 0700. Because of this people are generally very respectful of others' peace and quiet. Our block is largely made up of families and elderly couples and our own experience of living in the flat has always been quite normal for a city apartment in this regard. This sounds like someone having a party. We do urge guests to contact us if they ever have any issue with the apartment. We can often resolve matters very quickly.

A quiet oasis in bustling Paris!

This newly-renovated apartment was very tidy, spacious (for Paris apartments), and well-equipped. Adrian Brown is a kind, considerate host who was available through email or cell and provided thorough instructions for the apartment's amenities and directions to local sites. The apartment was set on a quiet little side-street but close to two bustling avenues full of restaurants, bakeries, & shops. Sometimes we ate in, buying groceries from different bakeries, butcher shops, fruit & vegetable stands, and the grocery one block away. It's also 3 blocks from two separate subway stops. We would definitely stay at this apartment again!

We stayed for four months--and loved it.

My husband and I, both retired and in our 70s, rented this spacious two-bedroom apartment for four months—for all of September, October, November and for most of December, 2015. And we loved being there.

We wanted two bedrooms so we could accommodate guests we had invited to visit us. The apartment was as described on the HomeAway website; there were no surprises. It functioned as expected. It was easy to use and to keep clean. The elevator always worked, except for one day for regular maintenance. The apartment was ideal for our needs.

We especially liked the neighborhood. We wanted to stay in a non-touristy neighborhood, yet one that was within easy distance of the heart of Paris. This apartment was perfectly located in a busy yet safe neighborhood (well, as safe as any big city neighborhood can be these days), the 11th arrondisement.

Shopping for groceries—especially breads and pastries—was very convenient, with several small grocery stores and boulangeries nearby. The apartment has a small collection of Paris-based tourist books, including folder of tourist brochures and list of nearby restaurants and stores.

There are three metro stops within a few minutes walk of the apartment. There’s a bus station right across the street, rue de Charonne. Bus 76 stops there on its way “down the hill” to the center of town or going “up the hill” to the Pere Lechaise cemetery and beyond. It runs frequently through the neighbor. Bus 76 became our personal “hop-on-hop-off” tour bus.

We especially enjoyed walking the short distance to the beginning of what we came to consider the most enchanting public space in all of Paris—the Promenade Plantee, a 19th-century elevated railroad track converted into an isolated, little-known urban park that affords a lovely, birds-eye view of the neighborhood that runs from the train station, Gare Lyon, to the huge parkland on the eastern side of Paris, Bois des Vincennes.

Landlord Adrian Brown was quick to respond to any questions we had—before, during and after our stay. We very much appreciated his attentiveness. The apartment building supervisor was welcoming and helpful through out our four month stay.

We highly recommend staying in this apartment.

Truly home from home

Recently spent a week in this wonderful apartment. It is exactly as described and the bus stop really is at the end of the road, we used the no 76 every day to take us straight into the city centre. Lovely shops nearby, sadly only discovered the wonderful whole foods shop on rue de Philippe Auguste on our last day! Would (and probably will) definitely book the apartment again.

A Real Paris Experience

The property was perfect for the 3 adults and 1 Teen that stayed there for a week. It was very close to some very good boulangerie shops and the buses and Metro were very convenient for travel. The apartment was very comfortable. It took a few days to figure out the thermal shutters, but after that we were fine. The owners are available very quickly for any questions. It was easy and quick to get to all the Paris sites, but also felt like living in a small Parisian Neighborhood. Tried a few of the local establishments and they were all good. Cafe Des Banques, which is down the street from Pere Lachaise Cemetery

The apartment is in the historic 11th arrondissement, close to Bastille and within easy reach of all of Paris' main attractions, via excellent transport links.

It is just off the Rue de Charonne, a bustling street, packed with independent food shops, cozy bars and restaurants, and quirky boutiques which leads you to the heart of the Bastille area.

Close by are several good cafes and restaurants, a fromagerie, a perennially crowded butcher's, a wine merchant, a couple of excellent greengrocers' and a choice of boulangeries. The lively Rue Oberkampf, with its many bars and restaurants, is a short walk away.

For day time sight-seeing, the Pere Lachaise Cemetery - resting place of Chopin, Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde, among other famous names - is an easy stroll from the apartment.

Also within walking distance is the Marais. From there, you can easily reach Rue de Rivoli, Notre Dame cathedral, the River Seine and the Rive Gauche.
