A luxurious central apartment with period features and a hi-tec specification

This 4 star rated city centre property is located a 2 minute walk from central Princes Street. It's on the first floor of a Georgian building that was built circa 1790. The property was recently restored and retains many period features yet benefits from a hi-tech spec, including a 43-inch plasma TV and Bose sound system supplying music to every room.

The superb triple-windowed Drawing Room overlooks Hanover Street and George Street and has a working fire. This room is furnished with antiques and there are 2 modern comfortable sofas which convert into double beds should guests be staying. There is a double and twin bedroom to the rear of the property and both have fitted wardrobes and wall-mounted LCD TV's. The Shower Room has quality fittings and the power shower benefits from body-jets. The new Kitchen has granite worktops and is well-equipped including a dishwasher, washer/dryer and waste disposal unit. A key to the private gardens is also provided. There is free internet acces

Excellent place to stay

We stayed here for a week in July 2009 and found the apartment to be great for all our needs. We had 4 adults and 2 children staying and were quite comfortable. The apartment is very nice and clean.

The location would be very difficult to beat!

I noticed that a previous review noted the noise from the bar next door. Yes there was some noise but if you shut the front windows you couldn't hear it at all.

Great location! Easy walking to most everything.

We enjoyed how close this flat was to everything, especially the Christmas Market. Our host responded quickly to the internet issues we had. The flat has a very comfortable living space. Kitchen was great and we were able to cook several meals. We enjoyed looking out onto the busy street below. The bedrooms were quiet at night even though there is quite a busy club/bar below the flat. My only criticism of the flat would be that it is in need of general replacement of mattress and pillows, especially in the main bedroom. The flat could also use some extra comforters/blankets as well. Even with these minor issues we would still choose to stay here again.

Location, location, location (and a really nice flat) in Edinburgh.

We love Edinburgh and wanted the perfect flat for this stay. I think we found it. We spent ten nights and genuinely hated to leave. The location is unbeatable--in the midst of great shops, restaurants, pubs and an easy walk to Waverley Train station. A block from Princes Street and surrounded by history. Entrance is up a few steps but the flat is all on one very quiet floor, spacious and well-furnished in a great non-fussy style. The large living/dining area overlooks Hanover Street but street noise is not a problem. The bedrooms which are in the back of the flat are very quiet. Huge windows and high ceilings in the living/dining rooms add to the light and airy feel. Great kitchen with all mod cons including an efficient washer/dryer. Beds are comfy and flat is well-heated. Photos and descriptions on the website are accurate. Booking was easy and the owner was wonderful and so helpful. Highly recommend.

Wonderful week

The apartment was centrally located as we walked to everything. All around us there were restaurants, pubs, and clubs. We didn't eat in once during our stay. The apartment was spacious for the 4 male adults and clean. The amenities were very nice and were as described. I would recommend this place for anyone that likes to walk in a neighborhood and doesn't mind a few minor hills.

Lovely apartment in a great location

We enjoyed a family xmas in this well equipped apartment. Really easy access to shops, restaurants, bars and perfect for boxing day sales.

The apartment was clean, well ordered and the heating was more than adequate.

The Hanover Street apartment is located in the very centre of Edinburgh's Georgian New Town and as such one is perfectly placed for visiting many of Edinburgh's attractions. Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile are a 10 minute walk away while the Scottish National Gallery and Portrait Gallery are a 2 minute walk. Edinburgh's fashionable shopping district, George Street is literally on your door step and St Andrew Square, which is where Harvey Nichols is based, is round the corner. This part of the city is crammed with excellent restaurants, bars and pubs and one is only a short walk from theatres, cinemas and concert halls. The city really can cater for all tastes.
