Heated Pool ! The pool heating will generally increase the water temperature by approximately 4°C - 6°C from the ambient water temperature at the time (up to a maximum of 26 to 28°C). The water may therefore still feel cold even where heated. please ask for more details.

Review # 9447147 "Pure relaxation!"
The description of the property corresponds with reality. Very suitable for a quiet-seeking couple or parents with up to two children. It is a beautiful, well maintained, cozy cottage, with everything you need. The garden is idyllic with pool and BBQ. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and straightforward. From the airport in Chania rd, 45 minutes away by car. From the house in about 10 minutes by car located in the neighboring Platanias, a Lidl, where you get everything you need. The house is very well hidden. Hot tip: the car should be a really small car. The roads in Crete in general and in particular to the house are narrow.
We can recommend the house, location and landlord couple fully. We have not relaxed so much for a very long time.
We stayed at Sarah and John's villa for 4 days in July, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage was very comfortable and well-equipped - ideal for two of us, but also had a couple of extra guests staying the spare twin room for one night. The garden was the perfect place to relax, swim and bbq. The area is surrounded by orange trees and figs, and while the cottage was next door to Sarah and John's house, it felt isolated and private. There is the Nostas vinyard nearby.
We had a rental car which I would say is essential for staying here, and being relatively close to Chania, meant that we were not too far from supermarkets, beaches and restaurants.
Sarah and John were very welcoming, and gave us some good tips about nearby tavernas and activities. John even popped round for a bottle of raki, which we happily emptied over good conversation.
Highly recommend this villa for peace and quiet, and enjoying some of the amazing local produce that Crete has to offer.
Small but perfectly formed, we had a fantastic week in this villa overlooking some spectacular countryside. The villa was very clean and well maintained, as was the pool. The garden offered plenty of sunspots but also plenty of shade and we all spent a lot of time chilling out and reading in the hammocks or on the sunloungers!
The owners John & Sarah give us some top tips for the best local tavernas, including a very isolated one right up in the mountains with incredible views over to the coast. We also got the nod for the best local beaches (all about 25 minutes away), either for sand or activities.
We came away feeling that we had seen and experienced a lot of authentic Greece and that makes a proper holiday. We will definitely book to return!
This is a really comfortable cottage that feels like a log cabin, although it is a reconstructed old village property part way up the mountains. The garden is small but perfectly formed, very usable, with wonderful views from every seat and just like the photographs. It feels totally private and the owners are not intrusive which we appreciated very much having stayed in a property before where the owner let herself in and out during our stay. The directions given by John were helpful, if a little too detailed, as we took several wrong turnings and felt a small sign would have been useful at the sharp right after the dip. We were met at the gate by Sarah who showed us into the main room, pointed out the information book to read and left us in peace to explore with a jug of lemonade (bliss) and some fruit. The info book became our guide as it had great ideas on places to visit and things to do. The cottage has everything you might need, including a comfortable bed, juice squeezers (used every morning), extra blankets (we didn't need) dishwasher tablets, BBQ (not used as we are veggies but all stuff supplied), children's toys, wood for wood-burning stove as well as all the necessary stuff. The weather was not perfect but the pool remained at 22-24 which was wonderful in the evenings. We saw John and Sarah when we went out to the car a few times and they produced wine, rakki, and eggs. Thank you so much! This is a place that you could return to over and over again as it felt like home. If you value peace, privacy, tranquil views, a great central location and are up for driving a small car on dodgy roads go for it! Tip: buy a huge bag of oranges/lemons/grapefruit (really cheap!) at the start of your stay from a local producer to make fresh juice every morning.
We spent ten marvelous days at the cottage with our daughter aged 3 years. The house is cosy and well-equipped, the garden is a perfect place to have some rest between two dives in the swimming pool. We enjoyed to be near the old city of Chania and to be so closed to the beaches and the moutain for small walks with our daughter.
It's little to say that John and Sarah were very kind with us: John was waiting for us at 1:00 am to be sure we find the house after leaving an homemade cooked in the fridge !
They provided us some fresh eggs, an excellent limonade and fresh fruits among other tasty things all along the stay. They know the country very well and give us some good advices to visit the area.
We warmly recommend to stay at the cottage !
The cottage was very cosy and well-equipped with everything we needed, including coffee maker, toaster, washing machine, hairdryer, large fridge-freezer etc.
The outside space was private and peaceful. We really loved the swimming pool and the barbecue area, and the views all around were breathtaking.
John and Sarah, the hosts, were really welcoming, and after our long journey, we appreciated the basket of goodies they left for us. They were also a great source of local knowledge, They found a great place for us to do water sports and recommended lots of beautiful beaches, as well as some lovely tavernas, where we tried some of the local specialities.
We would highly recommend this cottage and are already looking forward to going back next year!
The House is only 10 minutes from the wildlife lake at Agia and just 15 minutes from Platanias and Gerani. The fantastic water park at Limnoupoli is also just 15 minutes. There is a beautiful (and not too busy) sandy beach and sheltered bay at Agia Apostoli only 15 minutes by car. Directions in the house!
The popular Hania town is 25-30 minutes. The Samaria Gorge is easily accessed across the White Mountains and the smaller and quieter Agia Irini Gorge is less than an hours drive.
Elafonissi, the spectacular island of pink sand is approx 1hour and the beaches of Falassarna 45 minutes.
