Lovely villa just a few minutes walk from the stunning Bottom Bay beach. East coast beaches aren't suitable for swimming but the scenery is wonderful. A car is essential, and with a car the more commercialised and crowded east coast beaches are only half an hour away for days when you do fancy a swim, soyou have the best of both worlds. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and we would certainly consider staying here again if ever we return to Barbados. The whole island seemed very safe and the people friendly so we would love to return at some point.
Cosy, Comfortable Home on the South Coast
Loved this property, both inside and out. Very clean and tidy with everything you need. Quite often you have to start totally from scratch and buy everything in on arrival or you find yourself short of key kitchen utensils etc. but we could not fault the Pool House. The garden, terrace and pool are terrific and we enjoyed just chilling with Prosecco and chilled Banks beer in hand. There is plenty to do in the area without having to go too far but a car is strongly recommended. We did it without a car and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with Bottom Bay on your doorstep its hard to beat but apart from planned trips we did not venture far. If you want the razzmatazz of the South/West coast this is probably not for you but if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet of this lovely tranquil little corner then this certainly is for you. A useful tip if you are either without a car or just want to leave it parked up is to take the trips that include pick up and drop off. We did this for the Mount Gay lunch rum tour plus the Sunset Cruise, you pay a little bit more but far cheaper than taxi's. We also ordered our groceries for delivery from Massys (Six Roads) who were incredibly helpful, its not quite as slick as the UK but I could not fault them, they even sourced the products that they did not have in store for us. We were also fortunate enough to be here for the ODI cricket between the West Indies and England, fantastic day out, Kensington stadium is excellent and watching quality cricket with the friendly sociable crowd was one of our best days out. Jan and Lorraine were both excellent, we had a wee blip with the electricity whilst at the Pool House and Jan had is sorted in no time, she genuinely cared about us and made sure we were Ok - Tip top.
I have no hesitation recommending the Pool House and if we are in the neighbourhood again we would definitely return. Thank you Neil & Family
Great Villa, really enjoyed our stay
Would not hesitate to recommend this villa. Yes it is in a quiet part of Barbados, but that's it's charm, a getaway from it all. Having your own pool and outdoor entertaining space is perfect.
Great host Jan who dealt with any query we had and easy booking / correspondence with Lorraine.
Thank you Nicola!
Really kind of you to take time out to write a review. So glad The Pool House Villa provided tranquility on your trip. Jan & I also thank you for looking after the Villa during your stay. You are both welcome back any time!
My brother and his family loved staying at the pool house and my boys and I loved visiting and using the pool.
Lorraine is an amazing host, very accommodating.
I will definitely book the pool house again..
Thanks Lorraine xxx
Thank you Andrea!!!
Lovely to meet you and your family. Thank you for looking after The Pool House Villa and it was a pleasure to meet you all.
Yes!! would love to have you back, anytime.

Comfortable, quaint, clean
Great property, especially the outside area. Clean and tidy with everything you need. There are restaurants and places to go in the local area but you have to do your research as not all together or easy to find. You definitely need a car. Bottom Bay is something else. Magnificant beach. To think I was sipping fresh coconut water on that beach this morning and I’m now back in UK packing my bags for work tomorrow 😫 Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful beach house (as we liked to call it)
Schönes, ruhiges Haus für perfekte Ferien
Hier stimmt einfach alles.
Situated east of the windward isles Barbados is a relatively small coral stone island. Being approximately 26 miles long by 14 miles wide makes everything the island have to offer easily accessible. The Pool House is located on the south eastern coast of the island, on a quiet development called Atlantic Rising and is a short stroll from the breathtaking Bottom Bay beach, said by some to be one of the most picturesque beaches in the world. There are several other stunning beaches and bays within the immediate area including the famous beaches at The Crane and Sam Lords Castle. Harrismith, Palmetto and Long Bay are also stunning beaches which are just a short stroll. The airport is situated approximately 15 minutes away and the capital, Bridgetown (for Duty Free Shopping) , around 30 minutes from the Atlantic Rising developement.
Barbados has warm weather year round with temperatures not usually ever dropping below the mid-70's (27-30 degrees centigrade). The gentle Atlantic breeze on this side of the island means that even on the hottest days the temperatures are comfortable. Anytime of the year is a good time to visit.
With endless miles of white, powdery sand, exotic lush green botanical gardens, a rich colonial history, acres of sugar plantations and the gentle lapping of the Caribbean Sea, Barbados is truly an amazing place for a holiday. Nature lovers will admire the natural beauty on the island whilst food and drink connoisseurs have the option of dinning at some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. The local speciality, rum, is very cheap on the island, and there are many types – the Four Square distillery is very close by and is great to visit. Rum shacks are everywhere on the island, cheap and very cheerful ! (quite an experience!).
Barbados is an island of FESTIVALS including: the Jazz Festival and wind surfing championships in January, Holetown Festival, Holders season and the Gold Cup in February and March, Gospelfest in May, the famous Crop Over celebrations from July to August, and the surfing championships in November. The hectic West and South coasts are about a 30-minute drive away where the beaches are somewhat calmer but much more crowded. For nightlife, about 15 minutes drive to the popular St Lawrence Gap, and for fresh fish caught that day, the Oistins Fish Fry is a hit with both tourists and locals alike.
WEDDINGS are very popular on this beautiful island and Bottom Bay beach has become quite 'the place' to have your own personalised wedding ceremony.
