Country House situated in an oasis of green with sea and mountain views.
Os Salgueiros (the willows in Galician) is a lovely stone country cottage situated in an oasis of green.
Placed at the end of a lane, at the the foot of the forest of Mount Covelo, surrounded only by vines, with views of the sea, this is the perfect holiday hide away. The cottage gives you the feeling of being in the middle of no where, yet is only minutes from the village of Samieira with bars, restaurant and a shop, Combarro is 5 mins, Raxó 10 mins, Sanxenxo 15 mins and the wonderful city of Pontevedra only 15 mins.
There are two lovely beaches within walking distance situated on a quiet no through road where you will find a restaurant and tapas bar. There is also a boardwalk from the harbour wall that takes you to yet more beaches.
The cottage is situated right on the edge of the forest and a stroll in the early morning or evening is not to be missed, there are also many paths that climb the mountain and offer views of the Ria De Pontevedra and the Atlantic Ocean at its most beautiful. If you are a serious walker there are miles to explore.
The cottage has a large farm house kitchen, lounge, with wood burner, conseravatory, three bedrooms (sleeps 6), and 2 bathrooms. The beautiful garden backs right onto the forest and is filled with fruit trees - lemons for your gin and tonic, oranges for breakfast. The are two sun terraces to the front and a large covered bbq area.
There is parking for two cars. Pets are welcome and the forest is perfect for walking the dog.

About Sally Wills
The cottage is owned by John & Sally Wills After several holidays here we fell in love with Galicia, and 11 years ago, decided to move here with our 2 children, and dogs.
Sally Wills purchased this House in 2004
Why Sally Wills chose Combarro
Galicia has become much more accessible with flights to Galicia with Ryanair, Easy Jet and Vueling, you can leave home in the morning and be eating tapas by lunchtime! Holidays in Galicia, unlike the rest of Spain, are relatively new, so be sure to bring your phrase book, but to the Spanish it has been a very well kept secret, with beautiful beaches, historic towns and wonderful green countryside, it´s no wonder that this is where the Spanish choose to spend their holidays. Pontevedra has its own micro-climate - warm all year and much drier than further north, so it's definitely not just a summer destination, it's perfect for holidays and short breaks all year round too. Food in Galicia comes mainly from the sea, with wonderful fresh mussels, crab, squid and not forgetting what Galicia is famous for, pulpo (octopus drizzled in olive oil and sea salt) you have to try it!
What makes this House unique

Or even spend a day in our boat take out on your own, or with us as your guide, the children will love makeral fishing. We can also do a bit of dolphin spotting if you at the same time. Lovely house in a beautiful peaceful place. Would highly recommend
Very relaxing place to enjoy the area. Choice of safe beaches all close by and larger surfing beaches about 25 mins away. Pontevedra also nice to visit. House v.clean and well kitted out. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Garden lovely as well
Many thanks for your lovely review and it was a pleasure to have you stay!
Countryside and beach lovers paradise.
Lovely secluded property though not far from amenities and wonderful beaches. Limited height of some rooms could be an issue for persons of above average height. WiFi could do with higher broadband capacity. Our holiday was very relaxing and the property added to a thoroughly wonderful Galician experience.
So glad you both enjoyed your holiday in Galicia and many thanks for your lovely review. I totally agree, it would be great to have a higher broadband capacity, perhaps you can speak to Orange on our behalf! Sally and John
Comfortable, clean and well-equipped cottage full of charm and character and in a lovely peaceful setting. Sally and John were great hosts and full of helpful advice. We were lucky with the weather but the one drizzly day we had made us miss the luxury of a DVD player. Just a thought... Overall though it was a lovely spot and thoroughly recommended
Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay in Galicia.
The house was left in perfect condition.
Hope to see you again.

Peaceful, modern but characterful house with lovely garden in beautiful location.
We had a lovely stay and had a warm welcome from the hosts who were very helpful during our holiday and gave us lots of local recommendations of places to eat and things to do. The house was clean and well maintained and we enjoyed the peaceful gardens (our son particularly enjoyed his job as lemon picker for the G&Ts) as described in the listing. My 72 year old father in law found the narrow and steep stairs between the floors tricky but was happy with the bedroom on the lower ground floor with the adjacent bathroom. The highlights for us were sea kayaking at Raxo and exploring the old town at Combarro sampling all the fabulous seafood and albarino wine.
Charming house in great setting!
We had a lovely stay here! The house is quaint and in a beautiful, quiet setting with fantastic views. The owners were very helpful and always available to answer questions. The property was super clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend!
Many thanks for your lovely review and we hope to have you back soon!
Beautiful peaceful home - recommended!
This is a really great place to stay if you want to get away from it all. We visited with friends for a week and loved the property and surrounding area. The house has been furnished to a very high standard and also has a rustic, country feel. John and Sally met us nearby and drove us up to the house, and gave us lots of good ideas for local attractions and good places to eat. They'd also left us charcoal for the BBQ and a bottle of local wine. Thanks Sally for recommending the Island of Ons instead of Cies, we loved our trip there, and the fiesta in Combarro was fun. We loved hanging out in the garden with the fruit trees, and the BBQ saw a lot of action that week. Amazing beaches just a short walk away and its easy to explore the coast line from there. Thanks again, we hope we'll be back!
