Fantastic Base from which to explore Snowdonia.

  • 5 of 5

We booked Clydfan Cottage for a long weekend break mid January and arrived just as thew snow was beginning to fall. We'd stayed in the beautiful village of Beddgelert before but this was our first stay in Clydfan and what a great find it turned out to be. The cottage has a very traditional and homely feel with nice decoration throughout. The added twist was the contemporary bathroom with underfloor heating, which, considering the deep snow outside, was extremely welcome. Clydfan is the perfect base from which to explore the fantastic mountains, quite literally on the doorstep. Once back down in the village at the end of a long day the local pubs provide a welcome stop off for a drink before returning to the cottage for a relaxing evening in front of the wood burning stove. One regret is that I didn't get to experience sitting out at the back of the cottage and idling away a few hours watching the river go by, but will save that for a return visit once the weather has turned warmer. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thanks Nick, your review makes us want to go up there right now! Hopefully you get to appreciate the river next time. Would recommend a take out pizza from the village with your own drinks whilst watching the river go by, you can't really get much better than that!

Perfect cottage in a great little village

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for New Year 2012 and had a wonderful week. The cottage is perfect and the owners really go that extra mile to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible - we were particularly thrilled by the bottle of wine and shortbread that welcomed us when we arrived! The weather was terrible during our stay but the four village pubs and steam railway provided ample entertainment. New Year's Eve itself was rather special, with the whole of Beddgelert (and the local villages) descending on the bridge in the middle of the village for fireworks and dancing!

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

we stayed at the cottage for a week and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was homely and very cosy especially during the cold nights when we had the log burner lit. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything that youd need during your stay. The beds are really comfy and the sound of the river sends you off into a deep sleep. The village is so pleasant and has pubs that do great food and are child friendly, also lyn's tea room does a fantastic cream tea..!!

We would recommend the cottage to anyone looking to stay in beddgelert,....

Clydfan Cottage

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Clydfan in September 2011 and ate daily in the beautiful secluded garden whilst watching the river roll along. Clydfan Cottage was the perfect idyllic place to stay and I found a warm welcoming and peaceful environment with breath-taking scenery (360 degrees), lush vegetation and warm Welsh hospitality in the village. The property was well maintained, clean and tastefully furnished with essential equipment, the ambience was both warm and comforting. I had such a lovely time at Clydfan and recommend the cottage as a holiday retreat for anyone seeking tranquillity and a beautiful, warm and cosy environment and can't wait to come back.

There was lots to see and do in and around Beddgelert, I visited the 'Lookout' at Mount Snowdon, strolled along the beach at Black Rock, hiked along the Glaslyn Path and visited several gardens; including Bodnant and Portmeirion.

Great Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

A lovely start to our honeymoon, enjoyed reminiscing about our big day with a glass of champagne by the fire and river. Walks great from the cottage, no need to use the car.
