About the property

One bedroom cottage

This non-smoking, quaint one bedroom cottage is set in the picturesque fishing village of Johnshaven (just off the A92) which is on the East Coast of Scotland, between Aberdeen (the Granite City ) and Dundee (City of Discovery ). The cottage has recently been upgraded and is well equipped, providing an ideal base for relaxing and also exploring the coast and nearby Deeside.

The cosy living room has an authentic feel, with stripped boards and low ceiling. There is an electric fire and oil filled radiator, which provides plenty of heat for the cooler evenings. The sofa converts into a small double bed. TV, cd/radio & board games, provided.

The kitchen is compact and a large skylight window gives plenty of natural light. Fully equipped with cutlery, plates, cooking pans and casserole dishes, toaster, kettle, fridge, cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwaher and table linen & dishtowels.

The only bedroom has a superking bed (can convert to two singles if required) and plenty of storage. Electric blankets are provided, along with all towels and bed linen

No freezer

  • 2 of 5

The rooms are quite small, little space around the bed, but adequate.

The major disappointment was that there is no freezer or compartment in the fridge, meaning that it is impossible to keep any frozen foods.

Owner's Response: Hi Mark Thank you for your review, I agree with you, the shower is small for gents, would love to extend but as you realised space is at a premium, I have dreams of extending into the roof space but planning rules are tight here for conversation village. Hope you had a safe journey home Kind regards Sue

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Hill Cottage over New Year, just what we were looking for, had the most relaxing time ever, cottage was well equipped and was just perfect for the two of us and our two dogs. Had some beautiful walks around the village, returned home completely relaxed with our batteries fully recharged ready for 2018 😊

Hillhead cottage was a ideal for a couple.

  • 5 of 5

Hillhead cottage was a compact one bedroom that had recently been renovated. It was ideal for a couple. Everything worked properly and was in good condition. Bed was enormous and very comfortable, so we slept well. Johnshaven is a beautiful small village that was quiet and clean. Would fully recommend this cottage and village.

A quaint on the coast village peaceful and tranquil. Stunning coastline and beautiful places to visit nearby. Aberdeen is worth a look so is Stonehaven. Great food served at the local pub everyone is so friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed just sitting in the sun watching the sea.
