Pilar de la Horadada is located along the N332 and has three 'blue flag' beaches and many more in the surrounding areas. The resort is approximately 15 minutes drive to the east of Murcia airport and approximately one hours drive to the south of Alicante airport and is ideally located close to the safe, calm and sandy beaches of the Mar Menor. The region has beautiful landscape surrounded by market gardens, orchards, citrus groves and pastoral farms. There are plenty of beaches to choose from, most of them have beach bars and some offer beach volleyball and watersport activities. The local beach at Mil Palmeras is 10 minutes walk from the appartment and has a promenade that comes alive on hot summer nights. Las Villas, the beach behind Torre Horadada marina, is the longest beach followed by a smaller beach at La Mojón, which reaches the border with Murcia. If you dont fancy going to the beach try the familiy oriented beach club Olympia in Mil Palmeris or the more upmarket beach club Jardines del Mar in Dehisa de Campoamor which is only 10 minutes drive away and has a fantastic bar/restaurant in the evening.
There are a number of excellent golf courses all within a 20 minute drive from the apartment.
The City of Elche – World Capital of Palm Trees 30 Min Drive from the Apartment. It is easy to arrive at the city of Elche on the highway N-340 if you have flown into the Alicante Airport or if coming from Santa Pola on the highway C-3317. You will know immediately that you are coming close because all the roads leading to Elche are lined with palm trees and there are a lot of signs proudly announcing that this city was named part of the World Heritage in 2001 thanks to its art and tradition.
Guadalest is a Great Day Trip out, and is a 2 hour drive, with its XII century Castle. The Castle – The street which leads to this area is called De La Pena and is extremely pretty. The most outstanding characteristics are the white-washed houses, the amount of flower pots that decorate each house, the variety of craft shops with its leather objects. The street ends with a long staircase where there is a door carved out in the rock where you can go into an older part for around 3 euros. At the end of this street is the Town Hall where there are dungeons dating back to the XII also carved into the rock. This is the highest and oldest part of the village where you can still see the local church of the Virgin, a bell tower built into the rock and the Castle of Saint Joseph mentioned before.
Caravaca de la Cruz - the city boasts a rich architectual legacy, with the main feature being the castle which rises above the houses of Caravaca with its castle walls and turrets which date from the 13th century. Also 16th century churches and convents, Murcian baroque style churches and buildings with coats of arms from its more recent aristoractic past can be seen.
Just to let you know We had a terrific stay at your apartment in July with lots of sun and bathing.
I would have to say the pictures on the website really do not do justice to your apartment. I would recommend your apartment to anyone.

The apartment is very clean, light and spacious. Had everything you would need and more to make it a home from home. The pool was amazing. Myself and family had a great time. It's close to some great restaurants and shops. And the beach nearby is perfect. With it being so close to the airport I could not have wanted more. I would highly recommend staying here. And I am already booked for next year.

The region is largely agricultural and surrounded by market gardens, orchards, citrus groves and pastoral farms.
Beaches: The town is close to a coastline of fine sand and clear water beaches, interspersed by attractive inlets, all offering a full range of beach services. The beach at Mil Palmeras is about 10 minutes walk from the appartment and is ideal for leisurly days on the beach. Las Villas, the beach behind Torre Horadada marina, is the longest beach followed by a smaller beach at La Mojón, which reaches the border with Murcia.
Cultural Attractions: There is plenty to see within one hours drive of the appartment. Few examples include Cartagena (very few cities have as rich of a history as Cartagena which as founded 2300 years ago - you can visit the fantastic Fort and Port), Jumilla (famous for its wine and culture - try a wine tour which many of the vineyards offer), Murcia City (its a great city to gain real insight to everyday spanish life - Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans and Moors have all left their mark on the stunning local scenary), Lo Pagan (offers the largest open-air mud therapy in Europe - if you would like to treat yourself why not try the Spa at the nearby 4* Hotel Thalassia) and Lorca (an ancient town whos urban center was declared a 'town of historical and artistic interest')
Golf: The region is a paradise for golfers. You will find about six 18-hole golf courses within 20-minutes drive of the appartment. Courses include Roda, Villamartin, Lo Romero, Las Colinas, La Serena and Las Ramblas. The famous La Manga golf club with its three 18-hole courses is only a 40-minute drive away.

Cancellation and refunds - Up to 6 Weeks before travel - No cancellation charge and deposit will be refunded. Up to 4 weeks before travel - Deposit will not be refunded. Up to 2 weeks - we charge 50% of the full price. If we receive the cancellation less than 2 weeks before travel we charge 80% of the full price.
There is a final Cleaning/Linen charge payable upon arrival of £55
A £100 Pounds security deposit will be required in advance and returned upon final inspection of property
Air Conditioning is optional, an additional charge of £30 per week for the remote control is payable in advance
