In the heart of Le Marais, very close to the famous Place des Vosges, the Musée Picasso and the quality restaurants of the Rue des Tournelles, the Beaumarchais apartment is on the 1st floor of a nice ancient building typical of Le Marais. With a floor area of 42 sq.m, sunny and calm, it has been recently renovated, equipped and nicely furnished in early 2012, with a real separate kitchen.
The living room, very bright with 2 large windows not overlooked, has a sofa-bed offering a real additional double bed.
The main bedroom is particularly romantic with its pretty ancient wooden floor in 'point de Hongrie' style, the large bed of 160x200, the antique fireplace and the 2 double windows adorned with large silk curtains. It is separated from the living room by a corridor also leading to the bathroom.
The kitchen is new and perfectly equipped for the best cookers.
A charming and peaceful place to enjoy the district walks and various pleasures.
My family and I spent six nights at Maxime's apartment in December. It lived up to the description, and was clean and cosy.
We were able to walk to many sights and also used the close metro stations. Communication with Maxime went well, we would recommend this apartment. We particularly enjoyed walking around Le Marais and seeing the Christmas lights.
My wife and I spent 6 days in Paris in mid-September and we share the very positive experiences reported by others who have stayed in Maxime's Marais apartment. The apartment is attractive, well-furnished, well-equipped and comfortable. It is located within a short walking distance of excellent restaurants and everything that we needed during our stay, and is close to the Metro. In addition, many major attractions are within a 15-30 minute walk. Maxime is a wonderful and gracious owner who communicated with us promptly and thoroughly, and who (with his wife) came in person to let us in and explain the apartment when we were delayed in arriving. Two minor notes that might be important for some travelers: (1) The bathroom and shower stall are very nice but small, like most bathrooms in Europe. This was not a problem for us, but don't expect a large US hotel-style bathroom. (2) The apartment faces onto Blvd Beaumarchais, which is a busy street. The apartment windows block noise efficiently, but if you want to leave them open you will hear some street sounds during the day and early evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and would return. We recommend this apartment highly.
I very much enjoyed our four-night stay in this beautiful Parisian apartment. We found the furniture/bed to be comfortable and the neighborhood close to everything we could need. My only (minor) complaints are a few things that would've been helpful in the kitchen (sponges for example) and not having a key box that we could just let ourselves in with- having to determine the exact time we'd arrive to meet someone to let us in when driving from southern France was very difficult and caused a bit of stress for all involved. Otherwise, we absolutely loved it and would stay again.
My daughter, granddaughter and I enjoyed the apartment and surrounding area. Nice to go down and buy croissants for breakfast. The apartment is well equipped for cooking, although we only had breakfast in.
Stairs are always a problem for me, but not my daughter and granddaughter. Ben carried our luggage up...most helpful. We luv this area of Paris and would definitely recommend the apartment. Just don't make your suitcase too heavy. Thanks Maxime and Ben too! Just down from the apartment is a famous Paris deli...most delicious!
We thoroughly enjoyed our four-day stay at Maxime's beautiful Paris apartment on the western edge of the Marais. It is elegant, spotless, bright, and the kitchen and bathroom are beautifully renovated. The windows are huge and we loved to open them and listen to the bustle of Blvd. Beaumarchais. The apartment was plenty big for the three of us -- my husband and I slept in the huge bedroom and our 12-year-old daughter slept on the comfortable pull-out sofa. There is a supermarket just a block from the front door, so we enjoyed picking up croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning and having breakfast at our little table before heading out on the boulevard to find cafe creme! The apartment is very close to two metro stops, so transportation was a breeze. But we walked most of the time nonetheless, even to the Louvre and the Champs-Elysées. We would definitely stay in this apartment again!
We really enjoyed our stay in the Marais at this apartment. Maxime and his team were very responsive and proactive in their communications, and also professional in helping us check in. The apartment is clean, elegantly furnished, and comfortable. The neighborhood is also convenient, with great shops, restaurants, patisseries, and groceries all nearby. The location is also a short walk from the Place des Voges and Bastille, as well as several metro stops. Thanks so much for making our Paris stay so wonderful!
Ideally located in the centre of Paris, the apartment is few minutes away from the beautiful Place des Vosges, the Place de la Bastille (line 1 of the Metro), the Musée Picasso and the very shopping street Rue des Francs-Bourgeois. Nearby, many historical sites, private mansions and museums which give to this district all its charm, soul and attraction. The trendy clothes and decoration boutiques (the famous boutique 'Merci' 1 min walk away) are next to the art galleries and bookshops, attracting a chic 'bobo' and trendy public. Several quality restaurants at affordable prices in the Rue des Tournelles (1 min walk away). Transportation: from the Boulevard Beaumarchais, you go by foot to the Bastille (5 min away), the Hôtel de Ville (10 min away), Beaubourg or Châtelet (15 min away), Notre-Dame (20 min away), the Louvre or Saint-Germain-des-Prés (30 min away). Many bus lines (lines 20-29-65-69-76-86-91) and Metro lines (1-5-8-9).
