For a cosy, warm and homely self catering abode look no further than
The Kiln. Sitting on the Suffolk/Norfolk Borders, this single level
accommodation is just waiting to welcome couples to the rolling Suffolk
About the Property: This comfortable cottage has all the ingredients
that couples could need to have a peaceful and relaxing holiday in
Suffolk. Dating back to the 1800's, The Kiln was once a vital part of
the village life in Mendham, with examples of tiles being made on site
visible on the walls. Recently converted, along with neighbouring
holiday let The Golden Cross, The Kiln provides stress free
accommodation for two people. The front door opens onto an open plan
kitchen, dining and living area, with french doors looking out to the
small, private patio to the front and the owner's garden in the
distance (holidaymakers are welcome to make use of this). A door leads
to the bedroom with King sized bed and en-suite shower room.
Adults and pets alike will love this property and all that can be
explored if you only step outside.
Ideal for: Couples or friends wanting to escape the rush of life and
relax in a countryside village. Mendham is just a short drive from the
nearby town of Harleston, where trains can be caught to London
Liverpool Street if required.
Pets: 1 well behaved dog welcome at The Kiln. Owners are welcome to use
the owners garden for exercising their pet, but are asked to keep them
on a lead.
Exploring: There is plenty to do within just a short walk or drive of
The Kiln. Just across the road is access to footpaths leading around
the connecting fields, great for dog walkers or hikers alike. We would
certainly recommend packing a bicycle and seeing where the country
lanes take you; there is plenty to explore and we can guarantee you're
bound to find a good pub for a pit stop! For those wishing to visit the
city of Norwich, a 40 minute drive by car will take you to the centre;
with plenty of shops, a theatre, cinema and castle - there is certainly
more than enough to keep you entertained for the day. If you dream of
the sea, Southwold and its beach are just a 30 minute drive by car - we
recommend fish and chips from the pier with lashings of ketchup;
Eating and Drinking out: Whilst there are a small selection of eateries
to choose from in the nearby town of Harleston, the closest pub to The
Kiln is The Wortwell Bell. If you fancy a lighter bite, The Broken Egg
Cafe on the outskirts of Harleston offers a great cafe menu; with an
American Diner style menu being served on Friday evenings.
Self Catering: Most big name supermarkets will deliver to The Kiln, but
the closest supermarket is a Co-Op store in Harleston.
