About Carol and Hugh Clinton
We have enjoyed many happy times at Windjammer since we purchased the property as a holiday home just before we retired from running a small software company. We are from Nottingham and Reading, currently both living in London but we love the area so much, we are planning to move there permanently soon.
Carol and Hugh Clinton purchased this House in 2015
Why Carol and Hugh Clinton chose Whitstable
Hugh went to Kent University many years ago and we often travel this way to see friends. We knew immediately that this was the right property for us when we saw it bathed in red during a sunset. The SW facing balcony is perfect with a glass of wine watching the wonderful Turneresque skies.
What makes this House unique
Carol is passionate about art and has been very inspired by the local coast line and glorious sunsets. Hugh particularly enjoys the annual Whitstable Classic Car Show, which is held right on the door step on Tankerton Slopes. Everything is so easy here with the sea and shops just a minute away and there is something to suit every interest. There is a strong community spirit and the locals have been very welcoming.

Always a joy to stay in ‘Windjammer’
Our third stay in ‘Windjammer’ and every bit as good as the first.
Fabulous mini break
Everything felt very relaxed, spacious and cosy. We loved it. Thank you.
Amazing property, fabulous stay!
From the initial booking to the final communication, our stay in the Windjammer was excellent. Carol the owner was so pleasant to deal with and so accommodating. The place is lovely and so convenient to amenities. Everything you can think of is provided for and it def feels like a home. I have no doubt that we will book here again when next visiting Tankerton. The welcome packet with all the local brochures and the bottle of prosseco were a lovely touch! We really appreciated the Christmas tree too! I highly highly recommend this property! Thank you for the opportunity to stay in the Windjammer! We will be back!
Lovely accommodation in great location
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Windjammer. Lovely to have parking. The property was very clean upon arrival and is well-equipped. It was also surprisingly quiet. It is very well placed for walks along the promenade to Herne Bay or to Whitstable Harbour. Highly recommended!!
Comfortable upside down home in good location
Great "upside down" house only one street away from Tankerton Slopes and the beach. The property was modern, warm, comfortable, and well equipped. Lovely outside areas but a bit chilly to make the most of them this weekend. Easy to walk into Whitstable (15 mins along coast) and great location for exploring this lovely area.
