My family stayed at this fabulous villa over Christmas and new year for 2 weeks, we enjoyed our stay here immensley, the villa is total luxury with everything you could possibly need, breakfast and lunch was al fresco in the lovely sunshine, with superb views of the sea and castle, the pool was very tempting but not brave enough to try ( maybe a little too chilly for swimming ) After the children were put to bed in the evening we lit the chimmenea and enjoyed our glass of wine in the conservatory and enjoyed the superb views of the castle lit up at night.Peniscola is very charming and unspoilt, and would highly recommend this beautiful villa to stay, you will not be disappointed, it truly is something special. We look forward to returning again,

Stunning villa in a stunning location!

  • 5 of 5

The photos of the villa just don't prepare you for how stunning this villa is. It has a real wow factor with a very homely feel and beautiful interior decor. The views over the town and sea are amazing. Extremely well equipped we really didn't need anything. It is a bit of a trek down in to town 10 to 15 mins, and you probably wouldn't want to do it if you carry lots of beach stuff but walking down late afternoon for food or drinks was lovely and cooler to walk back up the hill in an evening. Nicky was great and really helpful replying quickly to any emails and questions that we had. The area is beautiful with many places to visit and things to do. We could have stayed for another week or two..... Highly recommended.

Charming villa with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

My wife and i normally holiday in major cities over Europe but this year we wanted to find a nice holiday place for both of us and our family, that offers tranquility somewhere to relax without all the city stresses and expenses. After lots of searching on the internet we found this wonderful villa which suited all of our needs. A beautiful house with very nice amenties,A kitchen with everything you could possibly need, a fabulous private pool, and a view that is out of this world. The house itself is beatuifully decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Families and couples looking for a relaxing vacation would have a wonderful time here. Peniscola is such a charming place. with great places to eat, wonderful fish and local dishes, real Spanish culture. The beaches....wonderful!, but the highlight of our holiday was sitting in the evenings with the lanterns lit enjoying a glass of rioja and taking in the wonderful view of the castle lit up at night, PERFECT

Great pool and View

  • 5 of 5

We rented the villa for a week for 2 families of four (8 in total) and found it fantastic. The view of the castle and the swimming pool are exceptional. The kids ranged in ages from 4 to 11 and all were able to use the pool extensively. We had a car and did a 'milk run' to the beach and found parking for free possible only 50 metres from some of the southern beaches. Peniscola at first impression looks built up and possibly tacky but its 100% Spanish tackiness which was a real thrill for us and Australian guests. Only a few locals speak English outside the major restaurants and you really felt like you were in Spain (not a Malaga or Salou).

Niky was very helpful on local knowledge and points around the house. She answered our texts promptly when we had a question even if this was not particularly related to her property. The Villa was well furnished with great period pieces and would suit families like us or adults sharing a villa as base for sightseeing. The villa felt like it was yours to enjoy, not a hotel or pension. If you have that priviledge I think it should be returned with overlooking the odd squeaky door. The Villa made our holiday and the people in it enhanced it by having a good relaxing time.

PS - we always take our own peeler on holidays (not sure why).

Peniscola Villa

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I booked this villa at the last minute and were really thrilled that it turned out so well. We had our two children (3yrs and 1yr) with us and whereas the 1yr old wouldn't care if she was in a turkish prison as long as you kept her in liga and milk, the 3yr old really loved it. She didn't keep still the whole time we were there except when she sat on her sun lounger by the pool demanding cartons of juice which she will now only refer to as cocktails. But really, this place has to be seen in the flesh. The photos, as good as they are, don't do the place justice. My wife and I really got value out of it as the kids were in bed from 8pm so we were housebound, but what a place to be housebound. On the practical side, The place has everything you need; washing machine, dishwasher, microwave etc.. We never ran out of hot water. There's a tv with a skybox (no card, freeview only) and a DVD player with a broad selection of DVD's. The bookshelves downstairs are even stocked. Also Nicky left us buckets and spades for the beach. But nothing will match sitting outside with the view and a glass of rioja in the evening. You need a car anyway so the hill isn't an issue unless you're going for drinks, in which case the walk down is fine and if you have enough to drink, you won't remember the walk back up. You especially won't notice the trip back if you go really crazy, spit in the eye of the recession and get a taxi. Go right at the end of the hill and there's supermarket just there. Keep going along that road and your in town. I usually parked along that road (free parking) and walked the five mins to town.

So basically we'd recommend this villa to anyone. The whole point of peniscola as far as I can see is a big castle on a hill sticking out into the sea. Its very impressive and from this villa you can see it in all its glory.

TOP QUALITY HOLIDAY

  • 5 of 5

Having spent 2 weeks holiday with my familly and friends all i want to tell you is i could not of had a better holiday anywere in the world.

After readiing the negative review i was a little concerned but now i know those people must have only been after a cheap holiday and were trying it on to get money back " i dont like scam artists".

The villa, it is out of this world and must be worth well over a million pounds, its private swimming pool although cold was always kept very clean, but then again who expects an outdoor pool to be warm in november.

The views from the villa were spectacular day and night, 5-10 minutes walk away were 2 of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been to, yes to walk back it is up hill but you know that when you leave and it is not all that bad.

This villa is a place that i will visit often, Nicky the owner made us feel so at home and directed us to some of the most fantactic resturants and bars in the village where the food and wine was the best i have had in all my years holidaying in spain.

I would like to personally thank Nicky and her daughter Pru for the most enjoyable holidays i think i have ever had.

See you very soon and take care.

Jackie

Great villa

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at the villa August 08, there were 12 in our group, 3 families, the views from the villa are lovely.

This is a very nice typical spanish villa with lots of extras, the washing machine and iron came in very handy.

The swimming pool was great, both day and night.

We were a little concerned due to a previous review but overall the villa was ok and any problems we did have were sorted out by the owner.

The villa is situated up rather a steep hill, we did walk down to the beach/town centre which took about 10/15 minutes but thought a taxi back was the best option.

Overall the holiday was great.

The only negative comment which isnt really bad was there was no advice book to refer to, which would have been handy to have, ie when/where to put the bins out, best restaurants to eat at, price of taxis etc, although when we did speak to the owner they were very helpfull and gave us details needed.

This fabulous villa is nestled in Peniscola's Atalayas foothills with a stunning view of the Mediterranean and its famous historic castle.

Two kilometers away from the villa beautiful Peniscola boasts two sandy beaches, a fishing harbour, a medieval castle and historic old town with exciting boutiques, art galleries, and a plethora of restaurants.

Discovered by Hollywood in the 50's as a backdrop for El Cid and more recently Peniscola's castle served as a venue for season 6 of The Game of Thrones.
