The apartment is located in a modern and very well maintained residence in a small and peaceful street. The man who is going to welcome you is very nice and can give you important information about Paris.
There is a farmers market twice a week. Many attractions and different activities for children and adults close by. From the Buttes-Chaumont Park with its sunny alleys, beautiful lake, ducks and swans, walking by the St. Martin channel up to the vast la Villette Park where you will discover in each corner a small world - the plants garden, children playgrounds, “the Geode” - the scientific cinema room, “the Grandes Halles” - exhibitions and spectacles, “the Zenith” - the show room of the hit musicians, the vast lawns where every summer are projected on Sundays “the free cinema” and free spectacles as well as the Cite des Sciences, the science museum of Paris with its exhibitions all year long.
In addition to that, the apartment is equipped with another set of cutlery and necessary utensils to allow you to spend a pure Kosher vacation. There are a few synagogues in the neighbourhood and many Kosher shops: drugstores, bakeries , butcheries and restaurants Kosher.
The apartment is spacious for a family of four or even five.
Location is in a safe, middle class neighbourhood with seven minute walks to several Metro stops on two lines. The building is clean and safe. We had no problems.
It is a good run to the sights downtown: 40 minutes to Musee D'Orsey for instance.
The real jewel of this rental is the Parc La Villette near by. This is an amazing park for kids with a science museum, huge outdoor playgrounds and multiple fun diversions.
The apartment was clean, roomy. Full kitchen, clean and functional bathroom. 2 dining areas. Easy to contact owner. Manager met us and was very flexible, accomodating. No a/c, but nice crossbreeze. Wifi functioned fine. Not luxurious, but met our needs at a very reasonable price. Would stay there again.
This place was a beautiful comfortable stay right next to the canal, highly recommended. Great people to deal with.
Overall, the apartment was what we needed for our stay in Paris, and we would stay there again. It's fully up to European standards and was clean and comfortable. I didn't fully understand some things when I was researching choices, and wanted to pass them on for others to better understand as they rent - the reviews can make the decision!
This apartment is really on the third floor American style - 2 floors up. There is a small elevator. The apartment itself is two bedrooms: one with a full bed and one with a twin over full bunkbed and a second twin. There is also a futon that can sleep two in the living room. There is no air conditioning, but the windows can be opened and create a good cross breeze.
Kitchen: The kitchen has no oven. There are three burners, a (not kosher) microwave, and a smallish Euro fridge and freezer. The Euro sized laundry washer and dryer work well - there is a dryer, not just a drying rack as stated in a previous review. I can only speak to the kosher kitchen - there were more than enough dishes and silverware, but cooking utensils and extras like cutting board, knives, peelers, were missing. I requested these and they were brought right away, but there are more things a person might expect that weren't there. (Again, this is the kosher utensils. I can't speak to non-kosher.)
There are several metro stops nearby, which made getting into the center and out to other locations easy. There are lots of boulangeries, butchers, and grocery stores very close, as well as cafes and restaurants. Wifi in the apartment was good, linens and towels were clean but no extras, apartment was in good shape overall. There was a pack and play available. We would stay there again.
We loved the place and location, it was clean, Patrick was helpfull. I would recomend it for large groups (to 8 people), specially with kids, becouse of nearby park.
The apartment was a great location to the metro which made for easy travel. Great bakeries in the area made for yummy breakfasts and there is a grocery store near by for other needs. The apartment was clean and Sarah was very responsive to our needs and questions. We would definetly stay here again!
It is located 5 min away from the Ourq underground station where line 5 will take you to the Gare de l’Est in 5 min where from you can reach to the heart of Paris in the Galeries Lafayette, the Opera or in Montmartre in 10 min. It is 5 min away by walking from the beautiful Villette Park and 10 min away by walking from the lovely and romantic Buttes-Chaumont Park. It is a few minutes away by walking from East and West as well as two commercial avenues with restaurants, coffees, numerous shops (Monoprix, BHV and McDonald). There is a small market and a drug store at the foot of the building and a bakery at the street corner. 10 min away by walking are a pool, ice rink and fitness centre.
