The apartment is located on the second and last floor of a historical mansion built in 1883 in the ''arcachonnais'' style, on a quiet, sought after street of a coveted neighborhood, 1,000 feet from the beach, walking distance from the city centre shopping area and Pereire Beach, and close to the "Winter Town". The villa is part of Arcachon's historical and architectural heritage of the ''Winter Town''.

It has an amazing ocean view from its three balconies, and its location is ideal to explore the region by foot or with your bicycle. You will instantly feel on vacation!

The apartment is centered around a dining and living room, with a decorative fireplace, a comfortable double sofa-bed, TV and DVD, and French doors leading to the central balcony with ocean view.

The parental Suite of around 300 sq ft has a queen size bed and a private bar featuring a coffee Nespresso machine and minibar, and an en-suite bathroom.

The entirely new kitchen has an electric stove, conventional convection oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and diswasher.

A second adult bedroom has a queen size bed and private balcony with ocean view.

The third room has 3 twin beds, (2 of them changeable into a double bed); two umbrella beds are available. It can be the kids' bedroom or a third couple's room.

The apartment also includes another two-piece bathroom and an independent water-closet.

The apartment is filled with light as it is on the top floor and has four skylights, and the hardwood floors are painted in a glossy white.

Exposed wood carpented bims add to the architectural charm of the apartment.

Lots of closets for plenty of easy storage.

The large garden, used by all the tenants, is very quiet.

The apartment is rented with its private garage, a big advantage during busy vacation periods where parking can be a challenge in town.

About David Toto

Both native from the South of France (Mediterranean and Ocean side), as children we spent all our summer vacations in the area. Now based in North America for over ten years, we like to go back to Arcachon with our three children... the beautiful, safe beaches, the magic of the Pyla sand dune, the highest in Europe, the immensity of the Landes pine forest as well as the unique atmosphere and charm of Arcachon downtown as well as the greater Bassin area.

What's not to like with such a diversity of beautiful sites and experiences? The Bay or "Bassin", the ocean beaches, the four neighborhoods named after the seasons of the year ("Winter town", "Spring Town", "Autumn Town" and "Summer Town") all with their unique personalities and architectural styles, a short boat crossing over to the Cap Ferret (the peninsula across from Arcachon) for a bike tour...Don't we say the celebrities like to show off in St. Tropez and hide in Arcachon?!

What makes this apartment unique

When we first saw this apartment in this 19th century mansion, with this unrivaled view to the Ocean, we fell in love immediately...its location within a stone throw from the beach, the bicycle path down the street...the street is on the route of the complimentary city bus that can take you to the railway station in less than ten minutes...the mansion has a big garden and the apartment has a garage where you can park your vehicle during peak season when parking on the street can be a challenge.

We renovated the apartment in a classical yet contemporary style, to make it the perfect pied a terre for beach vacations.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful building

Beautiful property in a very nice road, very light, clean and spacious. The kitchen is small but well equipped. We had a very comfortable stay. The apartment is beautifully decorated, we like the owners taste! It's a pleasant 10/15 minute walk into town and a 10 min walk to Pereira beach. The bakery is 5 min walk. We would highly recommend. En välplanerad och vackert dekorerad lägenhet utrustad med alla bekvämligheter och med ett fantastiskt läge, lugnt och ändå nära centrum och vackra stränder.

Allt fungerade mycket bra och man kände sig välkommen i detta sköna hem.

Vi tillbringade en härlig Påskvecka "en famille" i Arcachon och är mycket nöjda både med boendet och med vistelsen.

Tolles Appartment in super Lage

Wir haben uns in der Wohnung wirklich super wohl gefühlt. Alles ist sehr schön und stilvoll eingerichtet, mit viel Sinn fürs Detail. Die Zimmer sind großzügig geschnitten, die Aufteilung sehr gut.

Das Haus ist eine der historischen Villen mit großem Garten in einer ruhigen Seitenstrasse.

An sich ein herrschaftliches Anwesen, allerdings bräuchte es aktuell doch mal an der einen oder anderen Stelle eine Renovierung. Die Lage ist hervorragend, nur ein kurzer Spaziergang bis zum Strand und auch ins Zentrum kommt man gut zu Fuß.

Die Wohnung selbst ist in einem gepflegten Zustand und sehr gut ausgestattet. Ein paar Schönheitsmängel sollten aber beseitigt werden: ein Wasserschaden im Master-Bedroom hat an der Decke einen unschönen Fleck hinterlassen, ein Loch unter einem Dachfenster ist mit Gorillatape geflickt, an 2 Türen fehlen auf einer Seite die Türknäufe, so dass man die Türe, falls man sie ausversehen schließt, nicht mehr öffnen kann – besonders tragisch bei der Toilettentür.

Leider haben wir den Fernseher nicht zum Laufen bekommen, aber das lag vielleicht nur an unserem Nichtverständnis der Technik. Ansonsten hat alles gut funktionert.

Einzig die Garage, die sich auf der Rückseite des Hauses befindet, ist unserer Meinung nach nicht für die Benutzung mit einem PKW zu gebrauchen. Man muss hinter das Haus fahren auf einem unbefestigten, leicht abschüssigen Weg. Da es während unseres Aufenthalts häufiger geregnet hat, wollten wir es nicht riskieren, in der Wiese stecken zu bleiben. Allerdings war es überhaupt kein Problem, das Auto direkt vor dem Haus auf der Strasse zu parkieren.

Alles in allem haben wir die Zeit hier wirklich genossen und kommen gerne wieder.

Great apartment with pigeons and security deposit

Great apartment in a villa d´arcachonaise from 1883. Comfortabel and practical, got everything you need. 15 minutes walk to town centre, 5 minutes to the beautiful beach. Don't plan for evenings om the balconies, they´re occupied by the pigeons, which also get up rather early and are quite noisy on the roof. If you don´t mind, and don´t mind paying a decent amount in cash as security deposit to the local agent, you will enjoy staying at the Villa Saint Louis.

As far as the pigeons are concerned, I am sorry to hear they bothered you on the balcony. We have personally never seen them there. They are present on the roof, as per any old houses in Arcachon, and so we have lately installed some piegon prevention sticks on the roof to manage this. Finally, about the security deposit, we have strongly reduced it since your visit, so thank you for your comments and helping us enhance our services. We hope to welcome you again soon at the Villa.
