The Best Neighborhood In Paris- Everything To Do And See And Eat

Location, location, location… it’s all about being in the zone. Paris is the most popular tourist location in the entire world. My house sits in the most popular neighborhood in Paris, making my home's location, the number one tourist location in the entire world !! – The Louvre, 9 min walk. Notre Dame, 10 min walk. Luxembourg park, 4 min walk. The best restaurants in Paris, 2 min walk. Best shopping, all around you. 12 movie theaters, 3 minute walk. Fresh food, 2 min walk. Amazing Pastries, 3 min walk. Church Davinci Code was shot in, 4 min walk. La Procope where Benjamin Franklin inspired the French Revolution (see French Revolution), Robespierre, Danton, Dr Guillotin (inventor of the guillotines), Voltaire and the French enlightenment… 3 min walk. Banks and secure indoor/outdoor ATM machines 2 min walk, the list goes on and on.

Trust us, before we moved here we came in several times and tried staying all over Paris, and we always ended up, here ! This is indisputably the hottest most interesting part of Paris. NOTE: Cottage has no kitchen, but does have a small refrigerator, Convection/Microwave, Coffee Maker, and hot plate around the sink in the bathroom.

Cottage has a queen bed and also a couch that converts to a queen bed. Cottage can sleep up to 4 people and if you book the Bungalow you can sleep 6, open the passage and use the entire home.

Clean, well stocked & maintained in a PERFECT LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5

Mother-Daughter shared this adorable cottage in the best location! Great cafes, shops, banks, metro & bus stops all within a block (just far enough away for a quiet neighborhood, but a 2 min walk to a bustling cafe). We’ll definitely be staying here again when we return!

great neighborhood, great touches!

  • 5 of 5

While the space is small, it was set up well and they made great use of the space. The Street was quiet but only a block from all the action which was a perfect combo.

Great location, tiny space

  • 4 of 5

This location is top notch, the apartment itself was very tiny with little charm. We didn't spend much time here, and it was cramped for three people. The bed was comfortable, and thank goodness for the fan. This is a groundfloor

Apartment, so you can't really open the windows. I would not recommend the smaller space for more than 2 people, unless the third is a small child.

Owner's Response: Very private courtyard, we open the windows and shutters and private patio double doors all the time. We recommend: 2 adults or 2 parents and 2 children or 1 parent and 3 children on a budget is perfect. If you are 3 or 4 adults then spend the appropriate money to rent both sides of the house for more space. We are making a way for couples or families on a budget to get into this very expensive highly desirable neighborhood. We do not recommend 3 or 4 adults who do not want to spend the money this neighborhood costs for the space 3 to 4 adults require, and try to cram in on the cheap, then complain.

Home Base in the Latin Quarter

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location! You've heard that often enough. It's true. We stayed in the "cottage" for eight nights this year and the smaller "apartment" for five in 2014 and enjoyed both.

The unit is small but workable. TV is excellent, including good English language news channels. Internet was excellent. Kitchen with microwave and a single burner induction hotplate allows minimal food prep. Being in a courtyard, things are private and quiet.

Closest Metro is Saint-Germain - Odeon - 240 m, with bus lines there as well. In the other direction, walk 170 m to the bus. Paris is easily accessible, with RER B (Orly and Charles de Gaulle) only 700 m away. Notre Dame, the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Pantheon are among the sights within easy walking distance (we did them all).

The negative? Kitchen, shower, toilet and entrance in one room might bother some people. For double the price, you can have a room with no kitchen in the Latin Quarter.

The bottom line is that this property is excellent value. We got to know the Latin Quarter in our two stays very well, exploring many streets and getting into the history of what remains of the Roman part of Paris.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the 5 star review as this is an excellent value to get into the safest area in Paris with hundreds of restaurants stacked next to each other block by block and happy 70th birthday. He celebrated his 70th birthday in the Cottage with his wife and grandson and had a ball he told me. AS ADVERTISED "The Cottage does not have a kitchen", however every type of restaurant is 35 seconds out you're door. There is one sink in the large room with the shower. The Cottage does not have a kitchen. These guests found and pulled out my private dishes that are only for me to use when I am in town as this is my side of the house.. We do not advertise this with a kitchen. There is only one sink. I told this guest I would yank out the induction microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and induction plate and get rid of any cooking utensils if people are gonna complain. He said, no, no we want to come back we loved it. We cooked meals there. Please let me change my review. Now he emailed because he can't remember what site he posted this review on. Happy 70th birthday dear sir...

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in the Cottage with my two daughters, aged 14 & 16. We were able to walk to several sites (Notre Dame, Louvre, etc) when we felt like walking, although the Odeon Metro stop was just about a block away for longer trips or tired feet. The neighborhood felt very safe and there are plenty of places to eat & shop around St. Sulpice, St. Germain, etc. My daughter enjoyed doing her track workout in Luxembourg Gardens, quite nearby. The rooms are off a quiet courtyard which was nice, and the internet worked well (crucial for teens).

We did need to supply our own toilet paper, which was odd but not expensive (<2 euro). The owner and management company were both very responsive to questions & concerns.
