Words cannot adequately express the vacation we enjoyed at this lovely beach house in Grand-Camp Maisie. Our family consists of four children ranging from 10-18, and we travel extensively. This was our first trip to Normandy, and our main purpose was to do a D-Day tour. We were not expecting to find a gorgeous home perched on the beach with expansive views to Utah beach and Pointe Du Hoc. The owner was lovely and met us at our arrival - she made a special trip from Paris just to ensure our check-in went smoothly. She also was available anytime we had a question during our stay! The house itself is lovely - it is very large, and modern but also very comfortable. There are lots of windows overlooking the spectacular bay, and space to spread out or join together to play games. The kitchen was well stocked, and we did eat in a few times. The kids also enjoyed the game room downstairs, and the yard was very large - big enough to play kickball and soccer every night! It also had a trampoline my girls loved! It was hard to leave the house just to walk down to the pier because you can't find a better view! We did like Grand-Camp which was a charming seaside village and very non-touristy. It was in close proximity to all major D-Day sites as well. The host was easy to communicate with prior to our arrival, and we had no issues getting our deposit quickly refunded. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to visit Normandy.! It is the ideal spot!
We enjoyed our stay very much, the house beautiful, spotless, very spacious and fully equiped with everything you may need, for a large family with children like ours it was perfect; my daugther and niece could not get enough of the trampolin and all the games available inside.
The view from the house is simply stunning. Admiring the sunset and sea from the (very well maintaned) huge garden was the higlight of the day. The only sound you hear is from the sea and birds singing, it is perfect for a relax and quiet holiday.
From the house it is possible to walk to the small shops in the center of the town.
We were there to visit the WWII historical places and we manage to see (Arromanches is 40 minutes drive) almost everything in one week.
To sumarize we are very happy with our experience in this house, we definitely recomend it!
We had a great stay in this house. The view is so amazing you just feel like staying in the sitting room laying on a sofa to watch the sea ! It is just breathtaking !
The house is really very confortable. All rooms and bathrooms are spacious, very clean. It is ideal if you have children. There are lots of toys and games and a the cherry on the cake is the huge trampoline in the garden.
Waking distants from the house there are many things you can enjoy. The beach is wonderful. And there are also lots of sites to visit in the neighborhood.
Finally we would like to thank Adeline for greeting us and for all her good tips. We hope we can come again next year !
