Overview

About the property

2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Seymour Cottage is a cosy Victorian cottage centrally located in the picturesque Norfolk Broads village of Horning and is just across the road from the river. Features include entrance hall, bathroom, open plan lounge/kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, TV, CD Player, DVD player, electric storage heating, front courtyard garden, secluded upstairs patio, use of small private staithe on the river, private car parking. COTTAGE SWAPS CONSIDERED.

What can I do here?: The three main attractions are the Norfolk Broads (rivers and lakes) with rural countryside, the historic cathedral city of Norwich and the wonderful sandy Norfolk Coastline including the bustling seaside resorts of Cromer and Great Yarmouth. All this is less than 30 minutes drive from the cottage.

What are the Norfolk Broads?: The Norfolk Broads are a unique combination of slow meandering rivers with beautiful lakes (locally known as Broads). The river banks include thatched cottages with immaculate lawns (and gardens), reed beds (used for roof thatching) and many pretty staithes (a local word for a place to moor your boat). The best way to enjoy this wonderful National Park is either on-foot or by boat. Boats can be either hired (by the hour or day) or take an organised trip - Norfolk boats are either motor cruisers or traditional wooden sailing yachts.

A real cosy home from home in an ideal location.

  • 5 of 5

A well equipped, well maintained cottage, in a village with excellent facilities, swimming pool, shops, pubs and restaurants. We enjoyed seeing seals on the local beaches, hiring a boat, dining at the local fish restaurant and taking part in the local pub quiz night. Definitely recommend this cottage.

Great location, very comfortable property with all of the utensils, crockery and food preparation items you could ever want!

Really comfortable and homely, the parking right outside the property is an excellent addition.

Lovely stay - recommended

  • 5 of 5

Great place and recommended. It's a lovely place to stay in a really nice position. It was a great place to stay to allow us to visit the Norfolk coast and to visit Bewilderwood, which our little boy loved.

The pictures represent the place well. It's not huge, but it was perfect for us.

Local pubs are great and everything you need is close by. I'm sure we'll be back!

Cosy retreat

  • 5 of 5

Loved this little cottage it was cosy, clean and well equipped. Has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We were lovely and warm, the bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in. Horning is a pretty riverside village with a shop, post office and plenty of places to eat and drink. We would love to come back and stay at Seymour cottage thank-you Ruth for making our stay so pleasurable.

Lovely, comfortable home in brilliant location

  • 5 of 5

Cosy and clean, and very well equipped. Right in the centre of Horning so convenient for the shops, pubs and boat yards. The new Sea food restaurant in the village is fab, highly recommend a visit. Having a parking space is also great. As well as a day out in a boat we also visited Norwich (lovely city especially the old part and the Cathedral) and had a day touring along the North coast. All in all a lovely holiday and we look forward to returning!

With its cottages and shops grouped around the village green beside the staithe and its three Riverside Inns, Horning on the River Bure is one of the prettiest and most popular villages on the Norfolk Broads. It is centrally located for the whole of the Norfolk Broads where you can enjoy boating, fishing, nature trails and glorious scenery. The nearby historic cathedral city of Norwich has an interesting castle, alley-ways to explore, museums, theatres, restaurants, night life and great shopping. Less than 10 miles away are the beautiful sandy beaches of the Norfolk Coastline where with so many miles of sand a secluded spot can always be found! At one of these spots In Winter you can see the baby seals being born on the beach

Other Activities: boating, beaches, gardens, craft shops, tea rooms, leisure centre

Golf: Golf at nearby Sprowston Manor Hotel, approximately 5 miles away
