Pencreek - an apartment/flat that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
Minimum age of primary renter:18
Max guests:6 (sleeps up to 6 adults)
Could be great
You'll rent this property for the location: smack in the centre of St Mawe's, with a direct view onto the harbour. With the windows open there's plenty of hubbub - or noise - depending on your point of view. And the fundamentals are great, too: it's warm, with decent sized rooms including spacious kitchen/diner, modern fitted kitchen and appliances (except ancient, tiny tumble dryer).
But… it feels like a property that's resting on its laurels. No problem with the kitsch touches, mirrors aplenty and that bling kitchen. Less acceptable are the broken vacuum cleaner and toilet roll holder; very blunt knives; broken overhead shower; no clothes drying rack in compensation for inadequate tumble dryer; and carpets that could do with a steam clean.
It has the potential to be a cracking property, but right now it's not (and neither is it cheap).
PS We got locked out midweek. It was probably our fault - the door has an electronic lock that was accidentally activated before we left and can't be overridden from the inside - but help from Portscatho and the owner of property downstairs in getting us back in was faultless.
Best ever property we've rented with you

A lovely position in the centre of the village. The flat is clean and airy and well equipped. We would definitely stay there again.
Pencreek St Mawes
Excellent location and views. A little tired in some areas but this didn’t stop us enjoying our stay.
Pencreek has plenty of space and was perfect for me and my children... a great holiday
Some of the furniture on the balcony was broken and rusty and the vacuum needs replacing as doesn’t work .
Everything else you need is there tho
We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year..We were very pleased withe position and facilities provided at Pencreek. We would have liked better in formation on how to use the cooking appliances. There were none available!
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay here in St Mawes. We will check the folder for the instructions and print off again to replace. Thank you for letting us know, we look forward to seeing you next time
This enchanting south facing harbour village is found on the eastern side of the Fal Estuary, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with much of its surroundings owned by the National Trust. The village is centred round its quaint harbour, its own beaches and Castle. It has a good wide range of amenities, which are open all year, including butchers, bakers, convenience store, post office / newsagent, doctors, hairdressers, dentist, pharmacy, village hall, church, delicatessen and clothing shops including Fat Face. The village also has two public houses, and an excellent range of cafes, restaurants, art galleries, gift and ice cream shops. St Mawes has long been one of the West Country's more desirable and exclusive destinations.
